Tyranids, mostly due to the uniqueness of the range.

The rest of the 40k range are human or humanoid. Out of the nonhumans, there's Orks, which are muscly humanoids, various Eldar, which are pansy humanoids, and Necrons, which are skeletal humanoids. They all use conventional guns and weapons, stand upgright, and their anatomy dictactes how they move - like a human. To be fair to Orks, they are a bit more stooped and feral, closer to apes. They all drive around tanks and buggies and bikes and such, some lower tech, some higher tech and hovering, but they're all very similar.

Tyranids stand out immediately. The basic bodyshape is changed with 6 limbs on every creature, the look is different with everything being organic and armoured in plates of bone. Weapons, where they appear conventional, are fused to the body (like guns and boneswords), and where unconventional, are just extentions of the body (like crushing claws, scything talons, etc).

The anatomy of most units are different, and a different type of movement is suggested by the models. Termagants run on their rear and middle limbs hunched down, while Hormagaunts, a subspecies of Termagant, leaps and sprints on its back legs only. A Carnifex lumbers on its hind legs stooped down, while Hive Tyrants and Warriors stand tall and proud on its hind legs, befitting leader beasts. The psychically immense Zoanthropes hover, their 6 limbs atrophied, while Tyrange Guard have massively powerful middle and rear limbs for movement and front limbs used for weapons. Even units that move like snakes still have 6 limbs, a very strong theme to carry over such a diverse range of models.

The range is free of anything like a vehicle. The whole army is without ground transport, relying on fast moving infantry, deep striking winged creatures or infantry arriving by drop pod, the armies only transport.

Easily the most recogniseable and unique army in the 40k range.

Badrukk is an awesome model. He almost never sees play as him, but I use him as a freebooter Warboss sometimes

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

Imperial Guard - a good range overall, but briming with Tanks, and I love tanks, so it takes the prize for me.

Second place would be Dark Eldar.

For me, it'd depend on what sort of mood I'm in.

Sometimes I'll say Sisters of Battle, for their holy warrior theme.

Other times, I'll say Eldar, because of their gracefulness.

Yet more times, I'll say Orks, because of their junkyard heap looks on their gear.

Still other times, Imperial Guard, for the more rugged style.

All that applies to both infantry and vehicles.

What's the word for when your brain holds two opposing viewpoints at the same time? Cause I get that all the time.

I like the Grey Knight range BUT I still think the nids and de have some very cool models. I think if I did nids though Id want to get a hold of some of those space hulk gs.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

HIDING IN METAL BAWKSES!

Dark Eldar, Eldar, or "Newcrons".

The Eldar models are sleek and curvy, the DE models are sleek and angular, and the Newcrons just look pretty cool.

In fact, my favorite model is the Lord with orb, purely because of the simply awesome paint job on his shoulder plates.

I think orks have the most character and potential of all the factions. Their newer kits are amazing, you can see the detail put into things like trukk engines and motorcycle brake lines. They've got the most variety in terms of personalizing the faces of the guys too. There are at least 20 different heads for boyz and another 15 or more for nobs from the widest selection of interchangeable kits, allowing for more variety in your army than any other faction - and if that's not enough, most of the kits can also swap parts with fantasy orcs as well.
