I had the complete opposite problem today, out on a lesson, turning left onto the main road, and the guy approaching from the right is indicating to turn left (into the road I'm currently in). I begin to pull out, but slam on the brakes as he continues on past me, still indicating to turn left, and carries on straight ahead for about 300 feet, and turns right at the roundabout, while still indicating left!!

Most drivers are too busy texting to bother with turn signals.

Cruising down a road with posted limit 30mph the other day. car pulls out of parking lot right in front of me without checking causing me to slam on the brakes lest i smash into the back of her. Then proceeds to crawl along somewhere under 10mph fiddling with her sat-nav instead of driving. I was pretty pissed.

I live in L.A. and I walk everywhere or use public transit, if I had a nickel every time some donkey-cave, usually, as Ravenous said, in a Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes comes barreling around a corner without a turn signal when I'm crossing the street (when I have the signal to walk, mind you, jaywalking around here is pretty much a death sentence), I'd have enough cash to buy my own luxury car.

But I wouldn't want to drive around here, anyway. I'm truly astonished there aren't more accidents. Is there something in the air in L.A. that makes people completely incapable of driving like rational human beings?

LA has nothing on Manhattan in terms of aggressive driving.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
