I chose VC, because out of all the armies, they interest me the least. Brets come in at a close second, since I feel that they don't really belong in the warhammer world.

Peace through superior firepower.

I just don't get Chaos players... Seriously, I mean as a group we've complained for years about the way marks and such are applied as being too restrictive, which ment we could never build themes like a 'grand army of chaos' or an army of smaller rival warbands trying to out do the other guy. Then we also chirped in about how much we hated our army being random because it made certain units a liability at times.
So GW goes and does away with that thus allowing us the freedome to create any story we might want! So now we complain that it's dumb because you can have those rivals fighting side by side and the army isn't chaotic enough?!

I vote fluff-nuts as my least favourite army because you can never please them no matter what you do! (screw you Mr.Fluffbunny, I have Khorne & Slaanesh daemons in my army because it's two rival warbands duking it out and your army got in the way of my chaotic argument!!!)

I love random crap, keeps fantasy interesting, when so very many army builds are identical. But sometimes random can make things a little too interesting, like with my Skaven ...

I suppose what I want from Chaos is for armies to be different, yet DoC & WoC produce some of the most eyebleedingly boring builds time and again. For WoC I think it's a result of the meta and a certain lack of imagination on players' parts - there actually is a lot of variety in the current book, it just rarely gets dredged up. For DoC though I think it's a problem with the book, as Obviously Good Things are so obviously good and Obviously Bad Things are so obviously bad. The DoC DP vs the WoC DP is a good example, as the DoC one really is a pile of overcosted crap, while the WoC one has some potential, but is a bit too expensive and pushed out by more cost efficient choices. Hence DoC get my vote for least favorite, over WoC.

--------

Unrelated, I wanted to acknowledge the rat hate going on here in addition to the daemon hate. The dudes I game with let me know with some regularity how terrible the Skaven book is, and I agree. Not only is the book itself atrocious - a 12 page FAQ should attest to this - nearly everything strong in the army operates by breaking the rules of the game (see: doomwheel). This is kind of a bad design 'philosophy'

I also think the whole concept of humanoid reptiles is a bit too silly (even for Warhammer). It's like a game designer flipped to a random page of a Dungeons and Dragons manual and decided to base an entire army on one of the half-baked monsters he saw. Maybe we should have any army of dog-men or cat people next!

+1 to Lizards, but mainly because **** Scar Vets.

I guess my criticism is more that I think the army looks and feels stupid. I don't get excited when I think about either playing as them or playing against them. They don't seem to really jive with the rest of the setting. They might as well be an army of Gnolls or floating eyes, or some other random crap.

The fact that some of their options are hilariously powerful is just the icing in the cake.

Daemons of Chaos.

When I try to picture a daemonic incursion, the last thing I imagine is all those daemons antsy to get into combat and shred the living is marching in a nice, orderly rank and file formation.

The models are awesome, how they look on the table during a game isn't.

Wow. Lotta rat/daemon hate going on.

Well, I based my vote purely on aesthetics, and hence I voted empire. I just *hate* all of their sculpts. Ogres was a close second, bunch of fatties...

After what they did to Beasts of Chaos, rendering much of my army unplayable, I voted them. GW must have a giant nerf cannon hidden in their basement somewhere, because that's what they fired.

As a primarily VC player, I'm actually pleasently surprised to see a lack of VC hate!

Ever since that farce of a 7th ed book which most of us VC players hate to use, I've always been made to feel like 'That Guy' just for playing the army... (and I've been using skeletons as my main core units!)

To play against, Lizardmen. In theme and the army I want to collect the least, Brets or Wood Elves.

As an O'n'G collector I don't mind facing Vampire Counts! I love when my boyz gets stuck in and smash some skeletons!

THIS! I would love for Chaos to have one big book (technically they do in Tumakhan or whatever, the Warhammer Forge book, but that's more for Chaos Dwarfs) and with that big book bring back/create the kind of psychotic, world burning, monster crafting madness that Chaos is known for in the lore. I want spells that Warp Reality and animate the inanimate to attack everyone at once. I want Pink Horrors to be truly horrors and plague to be able to drift all across an army. MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!

But I also hate High Elves, simply because they have so much that they really shouldn't have. Sooooo much slowed magic items/special rules BS. Hard to choose....

EDIT: I voted for the aethestics and ideas, as that was what the thread seemed to be asking. So, Daemons it is. And yes, us Fluffnuts are a crazy bunch, but it could all be solved by BALANCE instead of evaporating anything that is remotely offending. Ya know, fixing things and stuff? Crazy right? Damn right I'm crazy.

I strongly dislike the dwarf models, and for that reason, I voted for them. They look too squashed for my liking.
