I'll still be buying the game if that's any consolation to Bioware.
Although mass effect 3 is out fairly soonish so they'll still be getting my money, just not in regular intervals... yet.

I see this crap finally made it to Dakkadakka sadly. Can't believe how far this site has fallen that people would actually spread these lies. If the OP had bothered to research any of these accusations he would have discovered that nothing he posted has any basis in reality.
1) People were banned for exploiting and camping nodes after being told by a GM to cease and desist. They were not banned for being a low level in a high level zone.
2) You can swear in game. I have over 35 hours played as a Sentinel and close to 30 as a Sith Assassin and I swear on and off in general. I have received no warnings, notifications, complaints, etc. The person is either lying or was reported for being offensive.

Indeed.

Shouldn't a high level zone be at your own risk, and you take the chance of getting swallowed in 1 bite by Ginormous_Dewback0003? In WOW, you could go to stranglethorn vale at level 1 if you wanted to, but a raptor would see you coming a mile away...
If they really don't want low level people in certain areas, why can't they just program it into the game to not allow them to enter at all?
Thats pretty much my thoughts on the matter as well. Sooo......I cant actually DO SOMETHING about being poor? Really?! What a fething slowed reason to get banned in an MMO. Oops, you thought outside of the box, BANHAMMA!
Did you just skip over all the posts in between that addressed just this issue as well as the statement from Bioware on what happened? They even specifically said there isn't anything wrong with finding stuff in higher areas, and they aren't banning people simply for that. If anything the point of much of what they are doing is to prevent average players from being poor becuase they are competing with gold sellers for loot.
Of course I skipped over the rest of the thread. Why would I read past the OP?

It seems kinda stupid to ban people for "Credit farming"... I mean, how else can you afford expensive items?

Not sure if serious. Are you being sarcastic or do you not actually know the difference between players and gold farmers?

I know the difference between those who sell online money for real money, but taht's not what I was referring to. I mean, those who simply are trying to grind for gold are often referred to as "farming for gold".

But we aren't talking about them and neither was Bioware in these stories. They were about people abusing exploits and credit sellers, not normal players trying to make credits within the confines of the game.

You could say the same thing about WoW.
People got banned for using a hack to avoid the majority of a raid and get directly to the final bosses. It was a great time saver, they already had that raid on farm, but they got permabanned.
People have been banned for win trading, even in twink brackets. There aren't enough players at 70 to earn Arena/RBG titles legit, so win trading is the only way to get them. Still, they got banned.
