It's okay, just need to work on that scatter roll.

Also , we killed the tau force to a man. 1 crisis suit with one wound left was all that was left standing at the end of the game. If we had continued he would of had 3 Wraiths, 5 Lychguard, and 1 Overlord (Draza'kar) on him.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Drenzyk looked upon the enemy encampment that lay before him. Tau, those who fought for their illusion of the so called Greater Good. "Pathetic," he sneered as he turned and trotted back towards the entrance of the Tomb. As he approached the entrance he bumped into Draza'kar the Unbounded, his arch rival, but for now his greatest ally.

"Well what is it?" Asked Draza'kar.

"Tau, a scouting force it would appear to be," replied Drenzyk.

Draza'kar pondered for a moment then replied, "The Necrontyr doctrine of old dictates that we give them fair chance to leave before we destroy them..."

"...But that risks them informing the rest of their empire that we are here which risks an invading force," Drenzyk said, finishing what Draza'kar was thinking.

Draza'kar glared at Drenzyk, always having been suspicious that he had planted some sort of device to read his mind "Yes," he said, "so it is better if we make them meet a fatal accident here, we still need time to awaken the rest of our brethren." Drenzyk sneered, he would not call those automatons brothers or brethren, they were merely slaves and drones to fulfill a purpose. "And besides," said Draza'kar, "Our phaeron has yet to awaken, we must keep him safe until then." Drenzyk was lucky that his face no longer showed emotion for the contempt he held for the Phaeron was tremendous, so much hate he held for the Phaeron that he had made sure he would never awaken, but he could not reveal that, so for now he had to play the dutiful servant.

"Yes," Drenzyk nodded, "We must keep our lord safe, let us annihilate the Tau."

........................................................................................................................................................................

The Necron force approached quietly slowly advancing through cover until they had the Doomsday Ark in position at which point the Tau force realized that the Necrons were there. Immediately the Tau began preparing for the assault moving into positions that would allow them to release volumes of fire power. What they didn't realize was the speed of the Wraiths. Or the power and range of the Doomsday Ark operated by the lucky Mor'tza. Immediately, Mor'tza lay down some hurt, immobilizing the Tau's Devilfish transport and killing two drones that happened to be much too close to the Devilfish taking the enemy by surprise which gave the rest of the Necrons precious time to move forward not being harassed by the enemy.

The Devilfish being immobilized, the Tau firewarriors scrambled out, realizing they were sitting ducks and sought the cover of a wood line which unfortunately for them caught the eye of Mor'tza who released yet another blast from his Doomsday Ark which unfortunately missed all but one Firewarrior. Meanwhile the Tau outflanked an elite stealth team who popped up right next to Mor'tza and his cannon and markerlighted the Ark which resulted in seeker missiles to come pouring in, fortunately, the Quantum Shielding held. The Wraiths, as expected, encountered Crisis suit teams, which turned out to be the two Leaders of the scout force and their bodyguards.

Yeah, the Wraith wave turned out to be much more effective than I anticipated against Tau. I mean I thought they'd mess them up, but not so much actually mow them down so easily. So... you can blame the Wraiths for taking out all the fun. (I actually had to deliberately "heel" them to ensure everyone got to mess something up).

Thousand Sons Battleship wandering the galaxy...

Cryptek: Anhur of the Eyes of Heaven
Background: A Harbinger of Destruction, Anhur was among the Crypteks involved in the shattering of the C'tan into shards, and during the War in Heaven, earned the title "...of the Eyes of Heaven" for his succeeding in using arcane sciences to pierce psychic barriers and shrouds, earning him the fear and hate of the Old Ones and the Eldar. Like most Necrons, he went into dormancy after the end of the War in Heaven, but awakened early towards the end of the Great Crusade. Observing Imperial history, Anhur is one of the few Necrons who has expressed interest in Mankind. He considers them very similar to his race, and sees them walking down the same path: ultimately selling their souls to the Chaos Powers just as his people sold their souls to the C'tan, and at the the end betraying and destroying those same Powers. While many consider his interest in Mankind foolish, none dare say such things to his face, for his power is real. Anhur hates the Old Ones, and sees the Eldar as no different, arrogant fools who believe in vain aspirations and unable to comprehend the true darkness of the universe. The only races Anhur acknowledges with respect are Mankind and the Tyranids, and to a certain extent, the Orks. "Mankind comprehends the darkness of this universe, and so prove themselves superior to their weakling elder cousins, the Eldar. Both the Orks and the Tyranids have achieved a level of evolutionary perfection. Of these three, no others apart from us are truly worthy of the stars." - Proclamation of Anhur of the Eyes of Heaven
Description: Anhur is a typical Cryptek with his once brilliantly polished living-metal body now dark and tarnished with age. Over this he has a cape of dark red, emblazoned with emblems of his allegiance. His body is well armored, and decorated with emblems of his rank and position as a Harbinger of Destruction. Wielding a might Eldritch Lance into battle, Anhur channels the very might of the material universe against his enemies, just as he did so long ago against the Old Ones and even the C'tan themselves.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

I would certainly like to make my addition...

Name: Vhun'kra the Herald
Occupation: Lord
Background: Alike his metallic peers, Vhun usually remembers flashes and fragments of his long gone flesh-bound body. Before the bio-transferrence, he had been an unequalled actor and opera singer within the Necrontyr race. Royalty from other dynasties would travel great distances for a chance to hear the voice of Vhun, for his ability was widely known. Not only would he receive adoring fans from around the galaxy, but there would be the frequent attempts to nullify him and his voice. Cynics, skeptics and assassins tried to behead his stature - literally or metaphorically, sometimes both - in order to quell Vhun. Therefore, he took it upon himself to train with the dynasties best bladesmen so he may not only defend himself, but also one day wage war. He quickly took to the ways of the blade and, alongside his vocal abilities, honed his skills of the arts. The years past with multiple plays and also numerous assaults, until Vhun finally attained eternal status as Herald of the Court.
After he was transferred from his biological form, he discovered ways to weaponize the artistic talents he had come to master. When the War In Heaven started, he joined the dynasty's legions in battle, lending both blade and voice to crush the Old Ones and their kin. Rebellion against the C'tan again allowed him to utilize his ways of war, though testing him to extreme ends. Now, after the semblanty limitless years have gone and the dynasty has awoken, Vhun has found his voice to be much different. Instead of the dark and sonorous baritone that should have emanated, there was an emotionless and toneless butcher. Vhun was no longer gifted. Upon this realization, there came the coincidental warning from the tomb world. There were creatures seeking to take the planet as their own. Vhun'kra will march alongside the legions of Deimos once again, announcing to the enemy their self-inflicted demise. Vhun'kra the Herald will regain his former voice, even if it means he must deny the enemy of their own vocal cords...

Battle report continued....

The Wraiths took some heavy fire and shrugged it off as they pounced upon the Crisis Commanders. As they did so, distracting the enemy to the danger that was close and present, the rest of the force continued marching closer and closer. Drenzyk left the Immortals assigned to him ordering them to take care of the stealth suits that popped up as he proceeded towards the enemy encampment. He was lucky that he did so for then a pack of Kroot and hounds pounced upon the unsuspecting Immortals obliterating them. However they failed to notice Drenzyk in their assault which would turn out to be a fatal error.

One squad of wraiths quickly destroyed the Crisis command squad they encountered as the commander had attempted to flee but failed. After running down the squad, they began moving in onto the enemy's hammerhead. The other squad was not so lucky and had been tied up in combat with what turned out to be a veteran Commander who displayed such knowledge of hand to hand melee that later Draza'kar, who witnessed the battle, would wonder if he was a pupil of the infamous Farsight. However, no matter how well he and his guard seemed to match themselves against the Wraiths, they were no match for, though weakened, the C'tan Mr. T. Mr. T used his mighty power of Time's Arrow and suddenly the Tau commander vanished, soon after fell the rest of the squad, allowing the Wraiths to bound forward. As they did so, Mor'tza was having a blast, quiet literally, he had survived against two more markerlights, disintegrated 6 more of the firewarrior squad that had sought shelter in the woods, and killed two of the three stealth suits, and their markerlight drone. Drenzyk had pounced upon the unsuspecting pack of kroot using his mind manipulating powers to cause one to kill his own brethren. The kroot, seeing the fearsome visage of Drenzyk, unleashed a volley of strikes, all futile against his enhanced armor and phase shifter. As they completed their strikes, Drenzyk raised his behemoth of a scythe, Hypnos, and cut down three kroot and a hound. Pitifully, the fools did not realize that their efforts were in vain and continued to lash out against Drenzyk. Another three kroot would fall and to his blade before they fled. Drenzyk then turn his attention to the remaining stealth suit, cursing the Immortals who failed in their task, and cut him down as well.

As the last of the remaining command squad died, the wraihs bounded forward in search of a menacing prey, the hammerhead. Mr. T however spotted 4 hounds making a mad dash away from Drenzyk and turned his attention towards them. No life would leave this field of battle. And he pounced on them. Despite smiting three of them, the hounds struck back equally as viciously in a desperate attempt to live, and weakened his armor tremendously. The last hound was able to flee Mr. T, and foolishly fled right back into Drenzyk who, with twisted pleasure, made the hound kill itself. Mr. T laughed at the hound, however he was not so lucky himself, a volley from the remaining firewarriors hidden in the wood line ruptured his necrodermis shell which immediately activated a tesseract labyrinth implanted in him trapping him into what appeared to be a tiny crystal. Drenzyk would come over to secure it, this was a weapon that even he feared if it fell into the wrong hands or worse, escaped.

Niralan knew the importance of not leaving any survivors upon this field of battle. Thus his eyes were set upon the Tau piranha, a fast moving vehicle that could easily escape the battle field. He marched the Immortals under his command even under withering fire of the Ion cannon mounted upon the hammerhead and the burst cannons of the immobilized devilfish. The Immortals fired volley upon volley onto the piranha which had successfully killed two Wraiths, until finally Kryptix release a burst of electricity that overloaded the circuits and ignited the fuel of the the Piranha. Niralan kept in mind to see if he could get upgrades bestowed upon Kryptix, even if he were but a machine now he was once Necrontyr like himself and deserved some reward.

Draza'kar swore under his breathe, the firewarriors had almost unleashed a fearsome fury upon the planet when they shot down the C'tan. He was thankful that the tesseract labyrinth had activated. But now, those warriors had to die. He pounced upon them with his lychguard entourage despite the volleys of fire that had crippled one that resulted in a cheer from the firewarriors which quickly died as the fallen lych got back up. Then the warscythes fell upon the Firewarriors under which all but one firewarrior died, two of those kills belonging to Imothep who had once been known throughout the Empire as a legendary weapons master. The remaining firewarrior made a mad flee for his life, and luckily for the cowardly tau, he escaped. His attention then turned upon the devilfish and in his rage of having the firewarrior escape his grasp, swung at it in anger as did his lych, but though their blades pentrated it hull, they did not slice through anything vital, or rather they had not the chance for the transport exploded suddenly and upon the other side of the wreckage Draza'kar saw Niralan with his remaining immortals and knew that Lord Niralan was the cause for the explosion. With a silent nod, they turned their attention to that which was left.

The Wraiths had done their job with the Hammerhead, however, one squad had been lost, unsuspecting of the flechette dischargers built into the hull. However the other squad witnessed this and with some caution proceeded to wreck the hammerhead. They then turned their attention to the remaining valiant, but stupid, crisis squad, and pounced. The squad fought hard but unfortunately for them they were no match for the Wraiths and soon all that was left was a single Suit, badly damaged, still fending off the Wraiths. He was able to glance up once to see Lychguard with an Overlord and another Lord with Immortals bearing down upon him....

End of battle...

Captured Crisis suit and operator, Interrogation in process.

One firewarrior escaped, No need to worry of him escaping the planet as all craft of the Tau exploratory team where destroyed. Wraiths and scarabs currently on the prowl for remaining intruder. Orders to capture/kill.

Losses: 6 Immortals, 5 Wraiths

C'tan Shard retrieved

Damage: Minimal

BBB: Those ASDF movies are just ridiculously silly...

Zomjie: Not really into dubstep, but that's a fairly interesting song...

KP: Disregarding the grammatical and other issues, that was an enjoyable read. For future battle reports, would you be able to post the army lists along with the story?

Also, that song really fits the Necron feel, but I'm more partial to stuff like this...

Tombs: To Cross The Land

Not sure if any of you are into that kind of music, but I find that song to be epic.

Edit: Okay, I tried to link it from my phone, but I failed to figure that out. Type the "Tombs To Cross The Land" into the YT search if you want to listen to it. They're black/thrash/sludge metal in case you're wondering...

Hey thanks! Big reason for all the errors was I was doing the battle report via mobile... Yes the entire battle report was done mobile. My thumbs hate me for it right now (especially since I'm on mobile right now). And I would have posted the army lists but I never saw his, he just told me his came out to 1560 and within 10 minutes I made a 1560 point list. If you guys want, I can post our army list from that battle. But his is "gone." I trust my opponent though, he has never lied before so I take it that he had a 1560 point army to field.
