I didn't say that.

You even went back to find it and didn't realize that it wasn't my post?

What I took issue was with his comment about the fact that they were absent from the Battle of Terra making their contribution to the Imperium's surviving the Heresy zero. I didn't really even "take issue" with it so much as I find the Ultramarines haters funny and like to poke at them.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

@Blaxican, Vet Sergeant:
Both views are right and equally valid. The only wrong view is that the Ultramarines did most of the work in saving the Imperium, the other 8 legions would like a word if you think that. I actually like the Ultramarines, but Gulliman and co. did no more work than anyone else. And finally, I actually am a teenager, I'm 18. I'm not angsty though!

Can we move on now?

The Utramarines were spread throughout the Ultima Segmentum by Horus to get them out of the way. Upon hearing of Horus' rebellion the Ultramarines needed to regroup because they were spread to thin.

They concluded to meet at Calth where the Word Bearers had planned to attack the legion with the new "Abyss" vessel created in the Sol system.

The Ultramarines were unable to make it in time for the battle of Terra they most certainly arrived in time to break the seige and scatter the traitors (most of whom ran for the EoT).

Guilliman then took up the mantle as a temporary Emperor and created the foundations for the Imperium as we know it.

With most of the Legions shattered from the conflict, the Ultramarines were the only legion able to continue the fight and free more than half the galaxy from the grip of traitors and heretics.

Finally when all was said and done Guilliman than broke the legions into chapters, most of which were born of his own legion.

The Ultramarines did far mopre than any other legion (immediatly following the heresy).

Now we simply wait for the Horus Heresy novels to completely ruin this established storyline by giving it a "interesting twist".

And not as much during. As much as I like the Ultramarines, you cannot, save with fanboi specs, say that they did more to save the Imperium than any other Legion. They did less than the other Legions during the Heresy. The fact that they were sent out of the way by Horus doesn't change the fact that they weren't present at the title fight on Terra. Without the other Legions there wouldn't have been an Imperium for Gulliman to hold together.

Following the Heresy it would all have gone to pot without the Ultramarines, that much is undeniable. But to say they did more than the other Legions to help the Imperium survive the Heresy is wrong.

My points are made, so that will be me last OT post.

on the forum. Obviously

I like both the Night Lords and Raven Guard.
Night Lords have cooler armor though, so they win out

Well, have you ever seen a Marine looking relaxed? There is a reason why they are angry all the time.
