In my mind, that raises questions about the range/strength/AP of a Medusa/Colossus/Manticore compared to that of a LRMBT. The LRMBT is appealing because it has the range and strength to fill the roll of an artillery platform if needbe. The only down side is that it is a direct fire weapon and may not be able to reach targets that other platforms could. Can a Medusa or Colossus really match a Russ's range and strength? Also, those other platforms need to remain stationary to fire whereas a Russ can pick up and move out if the situation calls for it. It may be fun to plan those other platforms into an alternate list if I squadron them and run them alongside two Demolishers; what are their respective point costs?
I guess totally swapping all the Vet SQDs to flarmers is a bit extreme. Maybe giving them to the CCS to act as a flying reserve would be just as useful. The army does already have a number of HFs built into it, so maybe an IN PLT would be fun instead. Access to the additional S/HWSs would be nice, but I doubt I'd have the points to kit them out properly; Chimeras and all. Plus, what's the point of a mechanized force if you have guys walking?
Also, looking at the new list it decidedly lacks anti-armor capabilities and the ability to knock out transports at range. Are Vet SQDs still allowed to Deep Strike? A five-man element of Vets armed with MGs dropping next to AV13/14 threats, and MGs for the CCS would help fill the anti-armor void. I may drop the Hellhounds since the army already boasts six HFs to handle hordes, and use the points for three Sentinels. Giving them ACs would help me engage AV12 vehicles beyond the 24-36in range and hopefully nullify at least some enemy transports. All the ordinance weapons, MLs and PGs should be able to handle foot mobile infantry pretty effectively.
