I hope to start a trend.

Your models do look amazing.

As for using CDs for basing, this has been done for years for both models and terrain. A number of companies sell actual bases that size as well. Privateer Press ( for example) sells cd sized bases with the same lip as the base on the infantry model above in that size through their on-line store, as do a few others...

Yeah. They started that a few months ago, along with the release of their Battle Engines. It's a pretty sweet idea, and base size and shape is very important in the Warmachine rules set.

On another note- a little while ago I started using Mini-CDs for bases on Huge sized monsters for Pathfinder/D&D games. They're pretty much just the right size too (exactly right on our board- although our squares are a little bit larger than normal).

I like the cd base idea. Besides playing against TFG's I can only think of 1 drawback: steep terrain. You may have a lot of WMS (wobbly model syndrome) so I suggest using cupboard liner http://housewares.hardwarestore.com/37-188-shelf-and-drawer-liners/black-grip-liner-105364.aspx to keep the model from sliding down terrain. Or using a rubber coating spray paint on the bottom http://www.homedepot.com/buy/paint/spray-paint/performix-brand-spray-black-rubber-coating-performix-brand-spray-98266.html BEFORE you paint and place the model on the base. The links are examples for price and illustration.

You could strap a pantsless ork on something and make it look Imperial with enough Aquillas and Purity Seals. -Da Butcher

I love these minis, awesome job with the amount of detail to the Rhino and the Sergeant. One gaming concern though. As Vigagrus mentioned the WMS could be a problem but I would be more worried about how a based vehicles movement would be hindered in tight places such as a city fight or moving through difficult terrain like forests? This idea is awesome for static display models but for game play Im not quite sure about it.

Its better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool.

I feel a bit of an arse saying this, but your lion looks quite wolfy - his snout is long like a canine sort of shape

Lovely painting though
