Can't tell you. It's a secret...

Imho Lion just waited to see who comes stronger in the conflict, to the very end the Fallen were true to the Emperor.
(Yes I am fully aware of Luther being tainted by Chaos, but I believe that was near the end? or maybe I am mistaken, feel free to correct me)

From what I know, Luther and the rest were slowly turning to chaos while Lion and his mob were out and about.
As written before, it probably would have gone down in a similiar fashion to what is written in the horus heresy Alpha Legion book.

They're would be Horus and the rest of the black legion skipping through a meadow, brushing their hands against the tall grass and flowers, it would be a nice sunny day and there would be giant rainbow. They would live happily ever after.
The end.

That was a great read Pialu, love alt history for 40k. And the passages from Legion (haven't read it yet) but that is mighty depressing lol. So if Horus would have won and Chaos died in a 100 or so years, why where the eldar not backing up Horus? I mean they could have prevented themselves from extinction right there. Also On the recent 13th Black Crusade, why stop Abaddon if he is just trying to recreate a scenario in which all xenos pretty much sit and wait for profit.

Because Eldar know that Horus and Abaddon are evil? And know to trues the predictions of their own leader and not of outcast?

If Horus would of won, the galaxy would just be an orgy of bloodshed and violence dedicated to Chaos, that would in the end wipe out most intelligent life.
Sure the odd Craftworld would make it, yes the occasional human colony would survive. But Chaos, in the end, would destroy itself without an enemy to fight.
It is believed that this is what happened to the Vikings, after raiding and pillaging everywhere they turned on themselves.
Malal would win in the end. Chaos would destroy itself.

Not entirely, many actually settled with natives, bred and effectively intergrated themselves into the local culture, thus becoming.....well not Vikings anymore.

How about for the Orks:
As the Eye of Terror increases in size, encompassing more and more of the material realm, Ork Empires begin to fall under the sway of Chaos. Usually hardy and resilient to the nature of the warp more and more Orks succumb to chaos influence. Wars amongst the Empires erupt as Clans fight the rising 'un orky' mutated creatures. Initial wars go well for the untainted Orks but an increase in daemonic activity and the emergence of possessed orks begins to turn the tide of battle against them.
A great 'Orkidus' occurs on those worlds where Chaos takes hold and defeat is inevitable. Orks flee to worlds outside the reaches of Chaos swelling the numbers of Orks in a single location. Unknown to the orks it is this concentration of Orks that will delay the approach of the Eye due to the power of the Waaagh!.
Orks don't fall under the sway of chaos simply because they are orks. Orks already have everything they need so chaos has no influence over orks. Sure chaos can give mutations but mutated ork is not loyal to chaos and orks already fight among themselves a rising mutant infestation is not going change that if anything mutant rising will only unify orks and unified orks is the last thing you want to see (unless you are an ork).
And as far as I know orks are 100% immune to losing.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

Well, there's two points here. First, Eldar aren't any more unified as a race than Humanity, so the different factions had different ideas about what the best course of action is.
Second, some of them tried (see Legion).

Some Eldar WERE backing Horus; there was at least one Farseer in the Cabal. However, it was very, very important that there be no sign of alien support for Horus's rebellion; the Space Marines nearly universally hated and feared aliens, and some of the other Primarchs may well not have followed him if they thought the Eldar were involved. Fulgrim, for instance, had no love at all for the Eldar, and if he'd thought that Horus was taking orders from them he might have rejoined the loyalists then and there, or at least splintered off and stopped taking orders.
As to fighting the Black Crusades; the Imperium of M41 is not the Imperium of M31, and Abbadon is not Horus. Horus would have destroyed himself and humanity out of self-destructive guilt and a feeling of betrayal; Abbadon, by contrast, is a wholly dedicated warrior of Chaos, who has been nurturing his hatred for ten millenia. If HE were to win, it's very likely that rather than simply dragging the entire human race into destruction he would simply RULE it, turning the majority of the Imperium into something very like the Eye of Terror and allowing trillions of daemons to spill into material space. Chaos would EVENTUALLY burn itself out, but Abbadon wouldn't have Horus's daddy issues distracting him, so who's to say he wouldn't burn the whole galaxy to a cinder first? The longer the Eldar keep him penned up, the longer they have to try and figure out some way to survive the galaxy-spanning apocalypse that a true, focused devotee of Chaos would bring with him if he ever smashed his way out of the EoT.

Humanity and many other races would be dominated.
But just as the cabal predicts, chaos would annihilate itself.
They would have no one left to war with, and just like they do in the warp, there would be constant fighting between the servants of the chaos gods.
They would eventually kill themselves off. There is no other way it could happen.

I didn't say they did . I gave a brief description of what could happen, trying to fit inline with a Chaos dominated galaxy. If orks see that the Big Red Spiky Fings have a fair amount of Choppy and are quite Killy they might think that looks fun and get in on the action. They worship Gork and mork, why wouldn't they worship err Kork
