I quite enjoyed it. It ran the gamut of emotions, I think - it wasn't just all WAR DEATH HORROR, though it did have some of that in it as well.

There were some amazing-looking scenes, too. And the music was excellent, IMO - really helped set the mood of the various scenes.

I have to agree with that as well. Irregardless of the actual story being told, alot of the scenes had an almost "Rodgers and Hammerstein" movie-like quality to them.
