1. It's usually best to limit "whole table" or "unlimited range" effects to a specific distance in Apoc, like 72" or something. It also prevents things like turning the whole table into difficult/dangerous terrain and slowing down the game to ridiculous levels.

2. Get everyone to roll for their own units, rather than the Necron player having to roll by himself. It's a D6; the odds are the same no matter who rolls it.

3. Take everyone's word for it as to whether their units get affected or not, rather than having to watch each roll, so that everyone can do it at once. If you can't trust your opponents to be honest, then I doubt they're the right people to play Apoc with anyway.

Apoc is fun? That's news to me!

Some of the best games I have, and the games I remember the best, are Apoc.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

On moon miranda.

Oaka wrote:Having our Necron player roll a D6 for 100+ units each turn during the game to see if they got hit by lightning certainly ruined the game (he had to watch each unit's roll)...
He's a wonky crutch unit to begin with, trying to use him in Apoc exactly as written is going to get awful results. House-rule his ability to be less capable next time or just don't allow such silly things that effect the entire table to be brought.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Are you kidding me?

Did the **** insist on rolling every dice himself, and did you ***** let him?
Didn't anybody from his team say; "Ok, I'll roll for units on this end of the table, Adam will do those next to me. Brian will do the other end with Charlie helping him. And Necron Boy can do the middle. Lets go!"?

This. With that amount of units you could even have the opponents or "innocent bystanders" roll for some units. Could have been done within a few minutes.

I like the deep strike solution though.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
