Does any feel that Res Orbs are really worth the points? In a competitive game does the extra 15% chance of success really make them worth 30 points?

I had two in my last list, but I felt that over all, the number of extra models I saved, I could have just bought an extra 4 Immortals for the cost.

I agree with some of the other guys. Fill up the squad before investing in the Rez Orb. 4 Immortals would have been much handier then the Rez Orb. But once you have ten, adding a lord with a Rez Orb couldn't hurt provided you have the points.

It is very effective in a blob squad of 20 warriors with a Phaeron leading them. Yes, it is kinda pricy, but it makes for a core squad that is very hard to get rid of. I plan on putting a Ghost Ark behind them to beaf it up even more. But if you support it with enough stuff to keep CC to a minimum, you can have a core squad that is effective and very hard to get rid of.

But, and especially when it comes to Immortals. Fill up the squad first. In a squad of 5, it just isn't worth the points. In a squad of 10 or more, it greatly adds to survivability.

If I have 30 points and nothing to spend it on, I'd always take the Res Orb. But, I think we all kind of agree, a res orb is something you use for expensive units. Deathmarks, praetorians, Lichguard, big squads. I don't think ten warriors need a res orb.

Btw, can you have a squad of 20 immortals?

No, sadly they are a 5 - 10 option only.

Not to worry, that block of chedder can be tied up easily with 30 boyz, can get his ass handed to him in a match with Ghazzy, and can be squigified with Zogwort. How satisfiying would that be? ....Squigfiston, Lord of gak...
