Commanding Orc Boss

I like them, but I still prefer the old ones, those did indeed look like scarabs rather than this ant-ish look. Not bad though, good to see some attention to the Necrons.
But yeah, the price is a little... disappointing...

I'm going with Reece. Those are a big old miss for me. I prefer the gw ones even, something unseen sense the drop pod, and the was FW to GW, not the other way.

Personally I also prefer the scarab looking scarabs in the warrior box. The old metal ones, the new FW ones and even the Puppet's War ones are not enough bug like for my taste.

Don't get me wrong, scarabs are awesome, but the poses dont look very interesting, and they look more cute than...scary. :/ Plus the need for stands is a major turn off too. If they ever come out with a cryptek model someday however, im definetely buying!

This is the first time I've felt that GW design directly influenced (knowingly) a FW production. For them to pop out spider models this quickly--and for spiders to be such a solid choice in the codex, seems like a very favorable coincidence.
/Not that there is anything wrong with that--I'm actually encouraged if they are directly speaking to FW about their upcoming design choices

Agreed, i was hoping for actual scarab "Swarm" bases from FW, not the standard 3 bugs to represent a swarm. A missed opportunity here.

In my opinion, the scarabs are the rare miss from FW. They look like those cheap plastic spiders that come on rings you give away on Halloween. The price is also obscene, for what you get, even by FW standards, and I'm saying this as someone who considers FW prices to be generally not a problem. That's, what, like 2 bucks per individual bug? Yeah, right.
I like the Bitspudlo ones substantially better (the third one, really):
So far as the Ork weapons, very ehhh. No idea why they don't make a pack of bolt-on twin-linked Big Shootas\rokkits by themselves since it's an option on virtually every Ork vehicle there is.
Kanluwen wrote:Just to clear something up fast:
Those are actually new weapons. The originals are:
The new ones are:
I won't deny that the Shootas and Flamer look pretty similar, but they are different.
Yeah, they are different - they cost nearly 300% more, since the pack went from 12 weapons to 4 for nearly the same cost. Not sure why anyone would buy the new ones when the old ones are still for sale.

I was expecting a real Scarab swarm, ala their Ripper Swarms. Kinda disappointing. I don't mind the style (but 'ants' is a good description actually), but I prefer the standard one. If it was a base with heaps of them, then fine, but it's not so it's kinda dull.
