Each team mate is limmited to 1 HQ, 3 Troops, 1 HS, 1 FA, and 1 Elite. In addition each member can selact a floater (1 additional HS, FA, or Elite) or 1 FW unit.

I assume if you take a FW unit it takes up the appropriate FOC slot. For example, if you take the Stone Crusher Carnifex, it would take up your 1 HS slot allowed.

Thanks optimus, I really appreciate the advice. And your right... I'm not really running a BA list so much as a carried over vanilla list.

Two difficulties with your suggestions...

1. I'm a really slow painter, and unfortunately other than the two razorbacks, I don't have any other vehicles or jump infantry built or painted. I could do some by Adpeticon, but probably not a whole armies worth.

2. Adepticon limits you to one heavy, FA & elite slot per army + one extra per person. I have the extra elite slot. To change this would mess up the whole team as everyone has built their armies with their own extra slots in mind. It's been hard enough for us all to get synchronized, so I'm not going to mess things up again this late in the game.

At the moment we all have fairly balanced lists, with an alpha-strike component and longer-range/more tactical units in support (but which can contribute to the alpha-strike with long-range fire power). Obviously, we won't always get to alpha strike... so we've tried to build in a little flexibility as well.

The scout bikes are there primarily to help the pods come down on-target. We have a lot of pods between the 4 of us, so I'm reluctant to eliminate them completely. I can knock them down to 3 without changing their role though, freeing up some points.

I actually made room in the list for a small ML dev squad, which could easily be replaced by a predator. I could whip that out easily enough. I just thought the 4 MLs would be a bit more robust and flexible as a single shot from anything besides a vindi or hammerhead woudn't be able to take them out in one go.

I realize that the sternguard are not a traditional choice for BA, but the reason I chose them is that most deep-striking units have to sit for a turn before they're operating at maximum efficiency. this isn't so with the sternguard... they drop, they deploy & weapons (combi-meltas, etc) are blazing. So they're impact on the strike is maximized. I could drop them and perhaps pick up another assault squad in a razorback and another priest... but then I'm not contributing in any way to the alpha-strike tactic that we decided to embrace months ago.

So... I'm not saying "no thanks" to any of your great suggestions... but there are complications and impacts on 3 teammates to consider. I will consider your ideas carefully though & see if I can find a way to make them fit into the overall synergy of the team without knocking me off my painting schedule.

Mine and the other team mates are more aligned to the above strategies. Gits is more versitile and more flexable. We need to cover alot of bases when playing. Never know what you'll play against at Adepticon. Not to mention the oftentimes odd scenerios they come up with.

We'll play some test games this weekend. Good time to test compatability and Hopefully we'll make few tactical mistakes so we can jugde the overall effectivness. After that beating dajobe is the only other priority

At least we didn't choose to play Tau.. whew! ( inside joke)

3 teammates. None with stereotypical BA lists. Pods, predators, assault marines, couple of special dreads. Everyone's list is a little different with varying strengths & weaknesses. Nobody's running anything like the lists you presented though.
