Fluids tend to be what people choke on when having a seizure, but it is possible for the tongue to block the airway, but that's pretty rare. The recovery position helps with all of those things.
Huh. Well, whaddayaknow? You learn something new every day. As I said, it wasn't me doing the lifesavey stuff really - I was more helping to get her into the recovery position and stuff. She looked like she was wigging out pretty bad, in any case.

I paid for my best friend's abortion...twice (neither were mine).
I didn't hit someone when he called himself a "dittohead".
I stopped talking when my closest friend (and now boss) got mad when I said "Liberal solution doesn't mean good solution." For the record, its only altruism because I'm doing her a favor.
I adopted a rescue cat that is probably 6 months for this world.
Best, though, is a guy that worked with me for 1.5 months that quit his (extremely lucrative) job to build houses in Joplin.

Yeah, but the jaw tends to clench during a seizure. So, you typically either bite it off right away or not at all.
The whole "put something in their mouth" thing is a myth. It's better to just leave their mouth alone (trying to pry the jaw apart in is a good way to get your fingers bitten off).

The recovery position, helping to put someone in it is lifesaving, one of the simplest life-saving techniques to learn, helps keep airway clear and protected with the safety of the patient in mind as well. Don't dismiss it, you helped to potentially save her life.

Biting off your own tongue isn't fun, I almost did that as a 4 year old. Climbing shelves, fell down, lower jaw hit shelf. Damn thing was hanging on by a thread. Luckily they were able to reattach it properly, though my tongue can't really "reach out" of my mouth at all now.
I vaguely recall the inside being dark purple. Could just be a screwed up memory.

Or Sydney for that matter? I see crashes on the side of the road with people gawking and laughing.
As for the OP, well done. This is the sort of thing that almost makes me start to have hope for humanity again. My wife is one of the most altruistic people I know. I mean, she puts up with me for starters...
But she's always helping people for no gain to herself. Pisses me off when she's down on herself for being selfish >.< But as for myself I'm not often in situations like this.
