Are all your towns laid out in grids so it is easier to stage multiple gun duels at once?
That's so 19th century. Now we all live on cul- de-sacs so we can keep our gun duels localized.

I thought you all lived in cul- de-sacs so you could all step out and say in unison "You aint from round here are ya boy?" to any stranger that happens down your street.

1. Yes.
2. Also good for duels.
3. In Amerika HURR! we have been concerned for some time about one of the great issues of our generation- zombiepocalypse. Cul de sacs are excellent nearly ready made enclaves. We don't know 'bout you Euros, but we're determined to survive the coming Zombiepocalypse long enough for Texas to form up posses and start the third annual Zombie Roundup. In fact, Frazzled was apppointed "cul de sac zombie sheriff" due to my location near its head (conveniently located within walking distance of a donut shop, pizza joint, and sports bar).
"wait, he said third annual, what does he mean by third?"

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

I'd like to point to the pressure from India and China on the oil supply base as the more legitimate cause of price inflation over these last few years. The Iran thing is neat, but they were already supplying us with no oil and europe with very little.
If Japan had gotten on the boat (joke!) we'd be seeing an actual price shock somewhere. As it is this is just people scratching their heads so they can justify a gradual and steady increase with a recent event.

Are you suggesting that Oil producers act as a cartel to control the price of a comodity?!
Surely not; that would be interfering in the global market.

When you get to over $10 a gallon then you can come crying to me...
Its 42 miles one way to work. Thats like longer than your country.
Quit moaning about your commute and live closer to work.
Or "write your representative" about getting some better public transport
The main reason public transportation doesnt work here, is our country is to damn big. I mean, HUGE. For example, England is roughly 50,346 square miles (according to a google search) and my state alone, Michigan, is 58,527 square miles. Thats just 1 state, and its the 11th largest state in the US in square miles. Sooo.......yea, only some of this country (read a small part) can actually use public transportation effectively. The rest, we get to drive a nice, big, expansive area.
Here in Oklahoma City we also have a public opinion that public transport is only for crack adicts and homeless people. Go figure.
