Eldar have plenty reason to fear a Vindicare. Wave Serpents are the only things that dont. Ap1 is the best way to take down skimmers with holos, he can snipe the invulnerable saves off the HQs and he easily damages Wraithlords. Oh and he can snipe out Exarchs, taking away not only special weapons, but expensive and useful powers.

He fell out of favour with me, but recently I've been running him (all my recent games have been against my brother's Necrons) and by god he works wonders against them. Crypteks and Lords must fear him, and Quantam Shielding will get knocked down almost definitely, even if it isn't destroyed, it is now AV11...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I've found some crazy firebase strageties in objective heavy games. Using a techmarine with crazy nades as an IC for assaulting has been a fun strat and the bolstered ruins giving my dreads 3+ and the sniper a 2+ cover save are pretty sweet.

works really well in capture and control. Works pretty decent for mutli objectives, and kind of ok for kill points too for survivability.

Kind of hurts bad for dawn of war but ok everywhere else. I've been also using some interceptors in my builds to get way back and immobilize longer range Str 8 hitting with shunt/rear armor shots.

Also, a storm raven seems to make it so that the vindicare appears invisible apparently...

I have almost never seen the Vindicare not do something cool/useful in every game i have seen it played, there are always exceptions where he'll just get smacked

The best way to take down holofielded vehicles still doesn't make it easy. AP1 makes getting a damaged or destroyed result easier, but it does the same against the vast majority of vehicles; it's not a sure-fire way of taking out holofielded vehicles.

I also run my HQs in vehicles (Serpent or Falcon in cover), have no Wraithlords, and only two exarchs, also in vehicles (serpents).

I have little reason to fear a model that struggles to take down the vast majority of my army. I honestly prefer that points be spent on a Vindicare over a Psyrifleman or something similar.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

I agree 100% that it's not easy even with AP1. That's why I field a pair of HF Falcons in my Eldar army. But it's still good. And yes, Serpents can be protected with cover etc, but good target priority with Dreads taking those down and the sniper hitting infantry or HQs would still be an effective use of the points. I suppose my point is just that the Vindicare is useful enough against Eldar that I'd still feel comfortable taking one in an Eldar-heavy meta...wherever the hell there might be one of those haha
