Just thought I would throw these up, they are on their bases and the transfers are finished. I added some detail to the squad, the banner turned out soso.
I wanted to drive home they were berzerkers. Let me know what you guys think.

Going to build a light box at some point, really not liking my photo setup.

So, what you've got is actually a khorne berzerker scheme. Before berzerkers were red and gold, they were black and red:

What you've got both fits your army AND khorne lore.

Very nice! Only thing bugging me are the skulls and the tips of the horns painted with bleached bone. Considering how well everything else is painted, they look a bit...flat. But awesome work nonetheless.

What would suggest for the tips? I also think they need something more to them, I'm just not sure what to do about it.

Personally I'd go with boltgun metal or gold, but using a light wash should work decently too.

I'm with you on using the claw as a PF, I have a dude with the monstrous arm from the old mutation sprue I've always fielded as a powerfist

my zerkers are due for a rework, with some forgeworld zerker bodies I got. I'll probably do a similar treatment instead of the standard Khorne red. My basic Legion is Alpha legion though and I don't think I want to have Khornate Alpha Legionnaires. I feel my Alpha boys would be too scornful of the chaos cults to join them, but they'd be more than willing to take advantage of them when it suits.
My zerkers may be Black Legion as well or I might make them Word Bearers. The Alpha's MO could be to stir up the zealots and then point them in the right direction.
Anyway, kind of a long way around to the point, but I think they look great and I hope mine turn out as well!

Just got my 6 new gw paints in the mail so I will be starting on the first csm squad of 10.
Since I waited a week for the new paints I played around with some bits, nothing major but just a little flair.

The paints I ordered are Leadbelcher, Ironbreaker, abaddon black, Balthasar gold, Auric Gold, and imperial primer just to try it out.

Balthasar gold is not what I thought it was going to be, looks really really bronze in the pot but it is a base color so maybe when it drys it looks more gold then brass.

Will post some pics of the primed models before I paint them.

Ive started work on my csm squad, my first attempt at greenstuff turned out ok. I found that the new base Gold is great but not really gold in color. The layer gold on the other hand Auric Armour gold is really hard to work with, Straight from the pot, thinned, or rretarded it is a pain in my ass for some reason. The new silver base and layer are great though.

Still WIP, need to touch up the gold some more due to my cats knocking the models down like 400 times a day, I swear they do it on purpose.

Also The shoulder pads are metal and it is the first time working with it, not sure how i feel about it.

Let me know what you think.

Good work so far! Nice job on greenstuffing. I remember my first attempt to be horrendous. Might wanna use some wash on the white skull helmet and add some highlights to the black armor, though. Looks a wee bit plain.

Thought I would post a pic of how my csm squad is coming together. I have just a little more to do, bases and two heads. Not sure how I feel about the star on the standard, the gold doesn't look like I thought it would.

It took me two month as it is to do these. Not much time and my first baby on the way so time will be even less in the future.

I tried a few with grey and a few with blue highlights and I didn't like the way they looked .

Next project is to convert the 5 possessed into havocs. I have three old school missile launchers, just not sure what other heavy weapon to put on them. In dakkas opinion what would be the best load out for a group of havocs?

Hi there,
The way I paint bone is to paint them bleached bone, then cover them in chestnut ink, shade up from the chestnut ink to bleach bone, then shade up from bleach bone to skull white.

Here is my model under construction (sorry about the picture quality as it was took on my phone:

Well I have been busy building my BL army. I have a Daemon Prince about 90% done, just need to tidy a few things up. In the DP pictures you can see the test model for my terminators in the background, really pleased with the way he came out.

I also have been working on a defiler i got off ebay for 20$. It was in pretty bad shape and had been glued by a mad man. It is still in the convert phase but I took a few pictures just to throw them up.

I really love the metal daemon prince but dislike working with metal, plus the whole no wings thing. The plastic daemon prince kit is ok, just not a fan of the heads. I also wish the hands and forearms were different pieces on the sprue. Kind of happy the way mine came out, looks good sitting there with my army around it.

I think the DP's head looks very cool, but the hammer seems to be little too tiny. How did you make that btw?
I'd suggest to wait until the new Codex has arrived, maybe the DP's get some wargear again like in the 3.5 'dex.
Do you want him to carry any mark? The skulls and red flesh indicate Khorne...

How did you paint the golden trimming?

I'm still struggling with my jump pack lord. He should carry the MOK, but I can't think of a suitable way to attach one. Do you have any ideas how to make marks on non-cult troops and generic (undivided) character minis?

I love the stench of Gryphonne Sepia in the morning. Smells like... PAINTING!

The hammer was just a stand in, I didn't really plan on using it. I believe it came with a Todd Mcfarlane Leather face guy I got a long time ago. i am making my own sword at some point.

I am trying to make my army as undivided as possible so for modeling sake it doesn't have a mark, but for in game I will most likely use him as a lash prince.

How did you paint the golden trimming?

Its just Balthasar gold, then a sepia wash, then a layer of Auric armour gold, then another light wash of sepia.

Do you have any ideas how to make marks on non-cult troops and generic (undivided) character minis?

The way i plan on doing it is by banners. I am not really a big fan of cult troops, I'm not dumb either and some have some real benefits to them. So i plan on making magnetic banners so i can just snap a mag on and it will be easy to swap around.
