Farseer Zelaine wrote:Ok here is the How to:

Second you want to plug the 9Volt into the plug and then wire the 2 wires to the exposed prongs on the push button. MAKE SURE that the wires DO NOT touch eachother or that will complete the circuit and it wont work.

Third you want to take the extra wire. Strip a good amount off of one end and enough to loop into the prongs on the On/Off on the other side. Attach the wires to the On/Off switch again making sure that wires on one prong do not touch wires on the other prong.

Ummm does this circuit actually work with the switch like that? surely the whole point of the switch is to interrupt the flow of electricity, well if you have the wires attached to the prongs in the way you suggest then the power can just go through the prong and onto the other wire and the circuit is never interrupted? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have one wire ie the red one attached to the switch on the battery side and the red wire on the led side attached to the other prong?

It works from my electronics know-wots but the switch doesn't do much.
With that setup (as shown) the switch can pretty much be bypassed.

Switch works just fine. Same setup on 2 monolith rigs so far and it does what it is supposed to. So unless there is some electrical coincidence happening on both of them then this setup allows the switch to open and close the circuit successfully

Worst case scenerio, if you but magnets ON your battery terminals, it might make your battery die a little faster. If you look at most monitor cables you'll see a thicker spot, that's actually a (fairly weak) magnet ment to clear out interference. strike that, corrected by office mate.

Since I'm running two lights I have a circuit board and all the parts I got them from radio shack this evening =)
How do I post pics to a thread? Other than having to go through a site like photobucket or something else...

If it's gaming related you can upload to the Dakka gallery (your account gives you access) and link from there.
