When life gives you lemons, stick wires in them and use the electricity generated to reanimate a dead pet!

I've only placed last a couple of times.

The last one was when i took an Oldcron infantry force (100 warriors and a lord) to a 2000 Pt tournament on a bet, and wound up playing 3 close-combat brutal armies Looked great on the table though

I still took all three Daemon prices and Skarbrand out before i went in the last one though

(this tournament is points-only. No sportsmanship scores or painting to affect placing, though there is a seperate painting prize.)

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Well, last place obviously ruined that tourney for you. I would recommend anticipating a similar result next time and pre-emptively ruining the tournament for everyone else, so that when you finish in last place again, everyone is on equally ruined ground.

Or, take solace in the fact that you had a lot of fun, and try again. Either way.

I have a friend who came in dead last in the first 15 tournaments he attended. He then never placed higher than middle of the pack for a few more. He finally after 8 years of gaming won his first tourney about 2 years ago. He is still the most die hard of all of us.

I have been top table in at least 7 tournaments and have never won a single one. I have ranted and raved about it even today.

Both of us have won numerous sportsmanship awards (not sure why on my part) and I have a theme award. Everyone has had fun and came away having had a good bunch of games. If you give yourself the time, you will either win or not worry about it anymore. You can go for another reason such as theme or painted, etc. Just have a good time with whatever you do.

The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude.

Personally speaking, I rarely don't come in last. I often try to supplement my suckiness with good humor. Of course my flgs gives a free tee shirt to the person in last place so its not too bad.

In every competition, someone comes in last. It doesn't make you bad at the game, sometimes bad luck is all it takes.

It certainly doesn't make you bad at the game; I reserve that for the d-bag who takes the uberkilly nigh-on-unbeatable list... and whines when things don't go his way all the time. (You know the one. The one who, in a WFB tournament takes a Chosenstar and has a fit when you drag it around by the nose with fast cav or fliers, preventing it from ever seeing combat, while you go and kill the hellcannon and warshrine to win on points. )

All you can do is learn from whatever mistakes you made, and try again next time.

Not pointing any fingers, but at my first tourney there was three GK players.

Ive placed in the bottom quarter in every tourney I've played. Heck the last one I 'placed 5th' from the bottom because three people didn't show and one walked out after the first round. Even if you leave out the three no shows I was almost last by 2 points. There was a three way tie for 4th place as well. So even if you lose ask around for people's scores. You may surprise yourself by how close any number of people were from being 'last'.

There you go, see?

What kind of a chance do you stand if you avoid the 'lower' ranks with 4 GK armys proweling around the 'upper'?

I was the only person who managed to beat GKs at my most recent tourny

Eldar ftw.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yeah remeber I had orks and I got a draw against a GK player... and twas 2250pts as well.

I will agree that GK are OP but this is because they are able to deal with ANY situation not just daemons...

Anyway you seen my (necron) friends bat rep, you have inspiration for a new lists now so now you can improve .

Eldar ftw.

I'm not saying I'm helpless vs GKs, but when 2/4 are running draigowing and I don't have any AP2 blasts in my list, I'm fethed 9/10.

The other time psycannons rend my Doomsday Ark to death in his turn 1

Grey knights are not overpowered, their a solid enough army but aren't all people make them out to be (Mainly some village burning unstoppable force).

Just cater your forces to counter termies and vehicles and usually you can fight them fine (hich you should be if you play events at vehicle killing is essential so is horde and termie viable weapons).

To OP, don't worry about coming last, after your first few events you'll notice an improvement hopefully as you learn what to expect, how to counter and tactics and from there on its upwards and onwards in placings.

But let's face it OP you played those games, you know where it went right/wrong. If you played and tried your best in spite of not knowing the opposing forces then there is no shame nor embarrassment at coming last. Enjoyment is the aim if the game after all.

Last FLGS tourney gave a "Smokin' boots" prize to the player who came in last: a paintbrush and a pot of paint. "Paint your army!"

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
