Wait, what?

Lets use an ex crip for secretary of defense as well. He's got private industry experience with violence.

Melissia wrote:"Real-world experience" doesn't necessarily equate to talent you know. Plenty of executives have real-world experience... burning companies down to the ground and profiting off of their demise.

You know, just how it is claimed taht Romney made his living.

And lack of real world experience doesn't necessarily equate to talent.

You know, just like how Obama is a miserable failure of a president.

I'd rather have someone who has experience because then you can tell if they're going to be good at their job or not. Hiring someone because you like their ideas is more likely than not going to result in problems.

I never made such a claim. That was just you making gak up out of thin air.

Except for the parts where he succeeded, which were quite numerous.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

No, It's why Prisoners make bad guards. The oil industry is hilariously corrupt, and while you adore deregulation to an utterly illogical degree that's not a particularly wise industry to deregulate given its sheer scope, proven lack of respect for human rights, and environmental impact. Come on Biccat, you can do better than this.

You know, just like how Obama is a miserable failure of a president.

Wait, nevermind.

It's the rational corollary to your comment.

I'm not saying just pick a name out of a hat, you have to look at a person's experience and effectiveness. Chu very well could've been a good energy secretary (he's not), but you wouldn't be able to judge that based on his prior 'experience.'

Melissia wrote:Except for the parts where he succeeded, which were quite numerous.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "success." I think weakening the economy and driving down any chance at recovery is a bad thing. YMMV.

ShumaGorath wrote:The oil industry is hilariously corrupt

I'll admit, I lolled.

ShumaGorath wrote:proven lack of respect for human rights, and environmental impact.

Wait, what?

I'm not going to say this is the most absurd comment I've ever read on Dakka, but you're trying.

Glad we could agree on something.

I know you don't actually bother to reference reality when you pick sides, but you're aligning yourself with some bad people.

No it's not. It's just you being a fething liar and making gak up then attributing it to me.

Sadly, I'm coming to expect this sort of vapid inanity from your "arguments".

From the link:
"Shell stated the payment was a humanitarian gesture and a gesture of sympathy, denying culpability in the death of Ken Saro-Wiwa death and the deaths of the other so-called Ogoni Nine"

Those evil bastards. Giving a payment as a humanitarian gesture and a gesture of sympathy. Plus, they had the audacity to deny cuplability for some charge.

Clearly, some of the worlds greatest monsters.

Yes, they gave money after being sued. Yep. Those wonderful human beings.

How about this?

I'm not sure what you think I made up and attributed to you.

I've only ever modified quotes in a humorous "Fixed it for you" manner or to correct gross spelling or grammatical errors.

Or is this about your "not getting raped increases the chance of birth defects" argument?

Well, I guess that settles it. On the ignore list you go, you are nothing more than a worthless liar and a troll now.

Comments like this are over the line and unacceptable. Please do not post the like again.
