We just had a new Marvel set drop today. Galactic Guardians. I can't wait to get my case from the store that I run events at.

Looks interesting that set, noted Nova on the front. Is it going to have folks like Adam Warlock, Thanos and the like in there?

We do have a new Thanos in the set, as well as Mistress Death. Both with and without skin. Adam Warlock was done as an LE for the Infinity Gauntlet tournament Series. We are also getting a Colossal Thanos on a 2x2 base at the end of the Infinity Gauntlet series.

Might have to get some. Infinity Gauntlet, and then Infinity War where two of my fave Marvel series back when I was a monthly collector.

will have to track down some kind of figs list for the set when I'm home. Sadly workblocked from most gaming sites here.



edit - oh is Gamora in the set? If so, I'll be picking up some looking for her, one of my fave characters.

What is this Infinity gaunlet thing?

Was a comic series for Marvel. Thanos collecting the Infinity gems to put them onto a gauntlet to make him the ultimate power in the universe.

Was a really cool epic series, with characters from all over Marvel coming to aid Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch against Thanos.

Oh and aye, I will share as I paint them for certain.

I nearly bought some galatic bricks but proper low on cash.

Welcome to my first review and its going to be on.....( Drum roll).......

The new Avengers Heroclix starter set.

So as you can see It is a very good price of £11.99 I managed to grab it for £9.99 for having a card at my local store called travelling man.

The packaging is very bright and bold with the name in big font .Also the main 4 characters on the front.
I opened the box up and found these awesome goodys inside.
All nice and compact together. From first glance it already looks really good.


What I think is great is in this starter set you get all the rules on a little piece of card with what and how the special abilites work. Then also you get a small 2 sided rule sheet on a quick to play rule set.I think this is great specially if people don't have a great deal to do with the internet. I think personally its is fantastic.
There is 2 D6 in the boxset and the 4 player cards for the individual figures. They are not named the same as what they are eg: Captain america is The first avenger The Mighty avenger is thor and so ans so on. On the card that is. What does suck a little even though everyone should know which is which.

All the models are very nicely sculpted and alot better painted to the normal booster/bricks packs that you get.
It seem they have spent a little more time painting them.
The map they supply in this set is shorter BUT its made out cardboard which is fantastic compared to the standard paper ones that don't last long if used alot.
Also with the cardboard one you do not have to keep ironing the creases out the map so your figures stay stood up.



Here my favourite model Hulk size comparison to the old hulk model left and a colossal model right. They have filled him out alot bigger this time what makes alot better in my eyes to use.


There it is people my first review. I would like comments and critism on anything I may of missed so I can improve next time.
If there is enough people wanting me to do a review on the rule set for each the characters I will do.

It looks like an Avenger base is one side? Kinda hoping the other side would be the ruined city blocks from the film. Would be nice to have a map where some chaos has been going down.

Think I might get one of these, and hoping they do one for the new Batman film.

The avengers boosters come out when film is out. You can buy black widow for a few quid.

Hello everyone.
So at the weekend I purchased some new heroclix whoop.
I got 2 avengers teams, nova single fig,1 galactic brick and onslaught.
The teams I got was the Loki and frost giants really nice models.
The other team I got Johann smitt(red skull) and his hues guard. They are nice models but are rubbish in the game terms. I played captain America 89 point one vs all 3 and he smashed them back to Skyrim.
Onslaught is a beautiful model and can't wait to use him.
Out of the galactic set I want silver surfer and he was in my brick whoop. I want the Dr doom model that is on eBay at the moment too.
I like the giant ones but want galactus really. Not reet bothered.
I'm really thinking of asking my family to get my the large Dr Manhattan for a early bday present.
Total change but read the 1st 3 comics of avengers vs xmen and they are super sweet. Also I have been painting my favorite heroclix aswell ill try get some pictures up this week.

Mind you, it's got a completely new dial, it's not the same piece as the mold mate from Avengers.

I have onslaught model it is beautiful. Got mark 4 sentinel on its way. I'll try get some pictures of my favorite models.

I've just started this, and have a collection building up.

currently got red hulk, iron man, the avengers movie starter, a couple skrulls, and two howard starks.

I'm debating giving my models a wash of badab black, as ive heard the results from that is rather good. i may test it on one of the spare howard starks that i have.

Picked up two Hulk and three Galactic Guardians last weekend online and they arrived yesterday.

My six year old has been going on how he expects to have Red Hulk all week since I told him I'd brought them. So he'd not be too disapointed I've been trying to explain to him that the boosters are random and there is a good chance we won't, but we'll still have something nice.

Guess what comes out of the first Hulk booster, I just lauhed out loud.

Good coulple of boxes as well, Got two super ultra rares, whatever they call them now. Keeper, which is Silver Surfer with even more power, and Hulkmariner, aka Namor hulked up to the eyeballs.

Got a few other nice figs, a load of defenders, and I picked up Gamora, Thundara and Lhyla (spelling?) off ebay later on that evening, hopefully they'll be here shortly.

Loving the new bases to the point I want to shift out the older figures for new ones. Oh and Chaos War is looking good, getting the fast forces for that one as soon as its out, thats an amazing pack for me, like all six of the characters in it, three being faves.

Also hoping that the next DC themed set after the Batman film, will be based around DCNU, I really want to get some of the characters in their new costumes.

New DC set after Batman is Justice League, sculpts are based on New 52.

Had a couple of first games myself today, and found it surprisingly fun For my first games I've been using a combo of Arkham Asylum Mad Hatter along with Yellow Lantern Scarecrow - simply becasue they're my two favourite comic book characters. Filled out the remaining spare points with whatever would fit in lol. No idea yet whether they'll work together, it's just fun to use Mind Control and then have Scarecrow hit them with his yellow ring

I got my first halo figure today its master chief with smg sliding down a wall.

I got some Chaos war boosters, and one lied to me

I have been looking for quicksilver rather hard, and i opened up a speed. same sculpt and almost the same paint, i got uber excited and then saw he was just speed.


played him though and HSS with 12 movement is really really fun
