I don't see how close ties to the Ordo Malleus would make them or even hint at them being a successor chapter...
If you're looking for evidence to support it then it might be but otherwise all it means is the Excorcists make good soldiers for carrying out acts of horrific inhumanity...

You're using evidence from NOW to discuss something which was put forth before this.

Grey Knights had nothing to do with the Exorcists then. Grey Knights did not have Successors then---and quite frankly, in my opinion, they STILL don't, no matter what you want to say about the canon status of "Headhunted". There aren't enough examples of Grey Knight gene-seed to really spend willy-nilly making a Successor Chapter.

It doesn't explicitly indicate anytrhing no. Bit it certainly "points towards" it.

You've got a chapter created with the intentions of becoming demon specialists. We know the creators are prepared to take unprecidented measures in creating them (the demon possesion). They have close ties with the ordo malleus. What gene seed might they have used? hmmm. None of that points towards the GKs? Really?

I think you should face the fact that you came into this discussion on the basis of some misguided CS Goto idea you had and if you really want to refute the short story line as canon you should come up with some better ideas about why it isn't the case. The CS Gotto idea was BS. The idea it contradicts anything was BS. And the idea that nothing suggested it could have been them is also BS.

The gene-seed of the Grey Knights is not what makes them "immune to corruption", so it's a ridiculous idea that they would use the gene-seed to create a new Chapter based upon it.

I didn't realise DNA was updated to include name, DOB and afiliation database fields in the 41st millennium. Using their gene seed in the creation of a new chapter is not telling the universe they exist. Whos to say even the exorcists know they are a grey knights succesor. The 'Heros of the Space marines' short story doesn't imply that they do.

The line is "Even the mighty Grey Knigths, from whose seed Rauth's Chapter (exorcists) had been born, could hardly have been more sutied to the task" That line does not imply that the Exorcists know there gene seed is of GK origin. Its the narator talking not the character.

Even if it is read as that the insert ",from whose seed Rauths chapter had been born," is annotation for the reader. Why would he annotate his thoughts with something he already knew?

Ties to the inquisition really isn't a definitive anything. There's several chapters who are close to the inquisition. This is purely speculation and may be less important now that the new codex redacted the strongest point of both daemon speacialists now that gk aren't just malleus chamber militant.

It's not speculation at all. It's an explicit statement in a BL novel that Exorcists are born from the GK gene seed. That's what is definitive. Kanluwen argued with the canoninity of that on the basis that nothing even pointed towards the GK being their gene seed. When in fact a lot does. The close ties with the ordo malleus being part of it.

And the GK never were JUST the ordo malleus chamber militant.
