I have seen a few Pixar movies. Those I have seen I knew I would like from the moment I saw the trailer.
Those that I disliked the trailer for, I didn't see, because I wouldn't change my mind (I don't like musicals, or overly sappy, soppy "family oriented" guff.).
I have no child-age cousins, nephews or other relatives that I would consent to watch a movie with.

It's usually friends or the wife that I see movies with. If I don't think I'll like the movie, I don't go and see it. I might have liked it, but we'll never know.
Fortunately, the wife tends to like what I like - but she also likes musicals and that other sappy stuff that I don't.
Some of my friends are - literally - dead to me over movies they recommended and thought I would like; and I didn't.
(Well, they are really, literally, dead to everyone. but that's neither here nor there.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Seven Samurai. I was about 11 years old and my Dad said (as Dads often do) "You should watch this film, it's a classic."

On discovering it was black and white with subtitles, I was less than convinced, but I sat through it from beginning to end and have loved it ever since.

Being a comic book nut, I went into Captain America thinking I would hate it because they cast Chris Evans to play him. Why would I hate it just for one actor, who really isn't even THAT big of a name? He played the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. He already locked himself in as a Marvel character: in fact, he locked himself in as playing himself on fire. He was fun as the HT. Seeing him get ready to play Captain America, I almost cried-awful choice, simply the worst Marvel could have picked.

I went on opening night (birthday present) and loved it. One of the best Marvel movies made. I've been singing a different tune ever since-Chris Evans CAN do good, semi-serious roles. He isn't just a slapstick wonder with a banana up his ass (Not Another Teen Movie, for those of you who don't get the reference).

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I ghess one good point about not having a crazy girlfriend is you don't get dragged off to horrable movies, or thats what you think untill you see them.
