Well that is gruesome albeit somewhat logical (hard to fit in for a larger human, and harder for enemies to reverse engineer). Regardless, fluffwise the Tau have no cannon fodder. Firewarriors are the backbone of the Tau army and rely heavily on markerlights and forward observers to eliminate targets, battlesuits are more mobile and powerful, pathfinders are forward scouts, Kroot act as specialist infiltrators and special operations almost, humans are a bridge between Kroot and Tau, they can understand how to use a pulse rifle or a markerlight, but they are also able to take humans and potentially kroot and larger creatures in a fight.

Though I'm still pretty new to all of this, I'm pretty sure the Tau don't use anything for cannon fodder.

When they absolutely must storm defences, the attack will be led by auxiliary troops such as the Kroot in a variation of Kauyon. The assault troops are not used as pawns - the Tau way of war does not recognize the concept of expendable troops.

Second paragraph in the left column of page 13 in the Tau codex.

Such Tau threads are not about facts. They are just an expression of hate. Tau haters will have forgotten this quote in the next Tau thread next week.

Haha, really? I'm comparing the Tau to that link to "Utilitarianism" in your sig right now. So far, the image I have of them are commie scum. But you're the second to call them "Utilitarian." So I'm researching right now
