Maybe so. It may be a little easier for you to take it lightly as you haven't been working your ass off for that moment of glory, then standing on that podium and having a joke song play. You're also from a country where you feel secure in its achievements and place in the world. Khazakstan is the subject of Borat's song because it's an out of the way, perceived-as-(and no doubt legimately, at least in some respects)-backwards place. A Khazakh athlete probably doesn't get a lot of chances to hear their anthem play in international events, so it may be a bigger deal to them. Maybe I'm overthinking it, though.

I have to agree with the fact the story is funny. But the video was just plain wrong. She got something like an Olympic Golds Medal which is no easy feat. And then her countries' real national anthem wasn't played!

I felt bad because she clearly didn't find it funny, but if I had been up there to receive a reward and heard:
