Why?
I'd love to see a narrative where half of the Alpha legion are loyal and the other half are chaos and the two sides are vying to protect/destroy the Imperium.
I think it'd make quite the compelling plot line.

Alpharius and Omegadude would totally shake things up in the plot and necessitate more inclusion of cabal activity in the main storyline and more of a fleshed out image of the various plans behind the crusade and the heresy.
A whole legion with autonomy an untainted primarch (or two) and an untainted gene seed and maybe some awesome new fluff of stuff they've been up to (because you know it's something) would be really neato too. They could probably do lots of good, or bad, or meh! But lots of it!
I'm really interested in what would happen if the lion awakens. I've already sorta written off anything to do with dark angels though. It's a real shame about them...

The problem is that we don't know if the AL is untainted or not by 40k. Some sources seem to indicate that they went MUHAHAHAA over the intervening years.

Far as I know, they loved showing other legions up either way. I think they certainly have a mean streak, but I think it's more or less the whole fighting monsters and becoming them thing. You don't go undercover without getting your hands dirty and your mind in the process. I think I relate them more to potential fallen angels and cypher more than anything.
I just wish they'd make some cool rules for the fluff.

Well, they haven't been living in the Eye of Terror, so they probably haven't mutated. And of course, they would seem evil to anyone not in the Legion.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it. |

My vote would be for Guilliman. How I would write it...
Latest Tyranid fleet smashes through Segmentum Solar and the Emperor uses the last bit of his psychic energies to heal Guilliman while allowing the block over the torn webway portal to drop and let the horde of demons unleash to combat the hive fleet.
Guilliman then awakens, rallies his chapters, cuts through the BS of the remaining Imperial political structure, and begins to kick some ass and take some names.
I think even his own Chapter would get shoken up pretty hard. They've grown to hardline in following the Codex and need to be reeducated. Their adherence to it in the Ultramarine series was pretty differant from Guillimans own words in "No Know Fear".

Sanguinius, obviously. The angel shows up freeing his sons from the red thirst and black rage. Reuniting the BA's and all their successor chapters into a legion, Sangiunius launches a crusade across the galaxy. As the crusade progresses, Sangiunius finds/rescues his lost brother primarchs. As the other loyal primarchs are mustering their space marines back into legions, Gilliman (spelled wrong, obviously) is brought back last so as to hear a least amount of his b$%ing about going back to legion format, the eye of terror vomits the greatest black crusade ever scene, and the deamon prince primarchs are leading the charge. Once again it's legion against legion. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry, I just realized that I brought back all the primarchs when you specifically asked for just one. My bad.

With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new

Vulkan cause I just think Vulkan is totally awsome. However the Primarchs that actually have a chance of ever coming back. Would probally be Guillaman, Alpharion and his brother, Russ, and Vulkan. I mean they could just have the Salamanders finally figure out all the clues Vulkan left and have him come back and kick some ass. Ive always imagined him sitting in his hidey hole glancing at a clock thinking "How long is it going to take!"

I would go with Dorn or Guilliman if I was using my head.
Going with my heart I would want Russ or Vulkan.
The Lion would be interesting but he has 0 political abilities. According to the HH stuff he is practically incapable of reading people correctly, borderline autistic primarch(?), so he wouldn't be able to handle the uber-bureaucratic 40k imperium very well.

That's a tough question. He's a deamon prince now, iirc, so technically he's under the thumb of Tzeentch, so he may not have much of a choice. Just like Fulgrim.

Yeah, just imagine if Russ came back. "okay boys, I see you've lost the pride arrogance and hypocrasy I always try to be your example for. So here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna attack all the the other space marines. Why? I'm the great wolf, don't question my actions! Also, Horus called and told me it would be a good idea, so that's what we're gonna do."
Meanwhile, in the eye of terror, in Abbadon's office...
"...dude he totally thought I was horus! Just like old times!" -fist bump-
The end.
