Sounds right to me!

Dont other companies make a similar wash anyway? Vallejo Wash Umber Shade must be very similar?

Thanks guys, I was going to switch to vallejo anyway and did not mean to start any flame wars.

Drew14, I read you have an airbrush. I'd recommend the next time you paint metallics that you try one of the Velljo washes through your airbrush as an even transparent tint. It can turn out awesome:

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I imagine someone will eventually update the paint chart with the new paints comparing them to the old ones as best as possible.

I'm less concerned over Devlan Mud, and more concerned over how the new washes match up to Asurmen Blue, Gryphone Sepia, and Baal Red as my Nid army is done almost entirely with those washes

I'm sure the new Agrax Earthshade will be a good alternative. GW aren't stupid, they wouldn't get rid of one of their best/most popular paints.

That may be true but what are they going to do with all the surplus(tens of thousands maybe???)pots of paint that are out there already. Will they take the hit on them and sell them off or go down the route of Dread Fleet.Come to think of it my local FLGS has a couple of Mega Paint sets gathering dust hhmmmmm!

I've got enough to do my skaven army and that's all I really need it for. After that, I'll use shades since they work more like inks and consider what I want to do about glazing once I learn how to do it properly.

One of the admins, Legoburner, had a thread posted maybe a week ago comparing Devlan Mud with a number of alternatives. The short version was that Army Painter Strong Tone is about as close a match to Devlan Mud that you'll find easily, and Army Painter Dark Tone is a similarly close match to Badab Black.

The thread is HERE
