No joke. One of the selling points to me about the Tau (The point that made me take the plunge ontop of all the Giant Robots and fun stuff like that) was they have Vision problems.
It's been a staple of mine to whenever I get the Chance to put a Scar(or Eyepatch) over the right eye of my Character, because I am Blind in my Right Eye. While the Tau are Not a race of people that are blind in one eye (Sometimes I wonder after my Shooting phases though ) they do have visual problems. While there sight is good (like the sight in my left eye), they focus on distant objects slower than humans (their different visual issue. While not the most similar problem, whatever It's my reason.)
So that appealed to me.

I'm a schizophrenic who plays multiple armies. But I don't think you know what schizophrenia is if you think those two things are related.
I'll just say this. "Split mind," refers to the split between the mind and reality.

I think a persons first army shows alot about who they are.
I think armies after that are just based on what kind of army they want to play.

Well I am a slowly dying, arrogant, wise, donkey-cave who forever seeks power and immortality... But is prone to go crazy and run and krump stuff And then make idols out of my faeces. Also, I have a massive mean/sneakyness streak) (Eldar&Chaos and Orcs&Beastmen)
Well, some of that is true... But I always try collect armies that most personify myself or are most appealing to me, as me and my group of friends enjoy roleplaying

I think it generally does, but not directly - it says something about what grabs your eye, what appeals to you tactically and aesthetically. The fluff plays a role, but it's clearly not an obvious "Satan worshipers play chaos, hungry aliens play tyranids" relationship. I play SoB because I see them as a pretty hilarious parody of religious fundamentalism, what with their flagellants and tying girls to giant death-machine mounted crosses and what not. Another player might play them out of admiration for Joan of Arc or something, I dunno. Others just like ladies with guns.

I play Tau, Eldar, Khorne/Tzeentch CSM, Mono-Tzeentch WoC, HE and Lizardmen.
The first two already conflict each other, one being the youngest playable race, the other being by far and away one of the oldest, also with one having no psychic potential at all whilst the others are the most powerful psykers in the Galaxy.
Khorne/Tzeentch also conflicts with Tau, by being close-combaty and psychic. Eldar conflict with Khorne/Tzeentch because they're Chaos, and are only linked by psychic ability.
Tzeentch WoC clash with Lizardmen and HE on a titanic scale, but are linked by being the three most efficient and experienced magic races, save Tzeentch Daemons.
If this is representative of what I am, then i'm a giant walking conflict that goes against all established history.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Everybody I know who plays 40k, their armies (or armies) seem very "typical" of their general characters and personalities. Very matching, or complimenting.
Do you feel you are, in any way, similar to your chosen army / armies? If so, how?
Eh. It doesn't always. I play world eaters because berserkers come in the army box. It just kind of got started that way and built and built on itself from there. If it had been thousand sons instead I'd probably be playing them. Automatically Appended Next Post: Alot of other people will play anything if they think it will help them win.

I got into Eldar because, I always kinda like the elf-esque army. They are a old/elder race that has lots of experience from their long age, they either have strong magic or their own technologic advancements that seems to be superior to other races.
But with all of their advantages they are burdened with a heavy weight, usually with a duty they have to fulfill or some shameful past, they can also see into the future and know very full the problems that lie ahead for them or at least have an idea of whats in store for them, combine that with their experience and knowledge they came across as a very tragic race that has reasons for what they do because it's the only way for their to accomplish their goals because that's what their learning and life experience tells them.
They are really amazing but at the same time are very tragic and you understand why they do things the way they do it, because the alternatives are worse or they have no choice.
Their entire race is on the edge of extinction, they live on craftworlds separated from their kind a countless distance away on other similiar craftworlds, while their dark brethren roams the galaxy, orcs and tyranids are headed towards the galaxy without number, the empire of man seems foolish at times, short sighted and xenophobic for all their youth, yet without them how would the Eldar fare; and their greatest enemy of all, Chaos, especially Slaanesh the Eldar are responsible for their own downfall and the terror they birthed in the warp because they lost sight of themselves.
I just really got into the fluff, the way the models look, how they play, I couldn't have asked for a better introduction into 40k.(I'm the older sibling in my family and I also feel like I kind of share in the melancholy the eldar seem to exude, not to the same degree one persons life isn't comparable to an entire fictional's race downfall but that I sympathize with them and identify with them)
Edit:
Jesus I just read through that, I'm becoming a emo space elf! noooooooo!!! Sisters of battle save me!
