Also, as wrong as it may sound IIRC there are "breeding" programs on cadia too... I know i read that somewhere but I can't recall where.

Cadian Blood. Thade and Tionenji discuss Cadia and later on Relations and that's where Thade drops the fact that Cadians have "Breeding Programs", with the simple explanation that Cadians don't have time for marriages, 'cause they actually like fighting more (Also stated in CB).

Thade was joking...

Wrong, lack of balls does not allow you to escape from the guard. There are female regiments for that.

Would you like to point me to the place that you found that there are as many Women regiments as men? I couldn't. That would mean there is a higher percentage of women on Cadia, which naturally means there are more women in factories.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever read anywhere that there are female regiments. Could someone point me in the right direction?

The majority of Guard regiments are sexually integrated: they have both male and female soldiers. It's dependent upon the culture of the world which has raised the regiment in question, but in Cadia's case the females primarily are in the "Interior Guard".

The Interior Guard is not the PDF. They are trained and equipped to the same extent as the Cadian Shock Troop Regiments. They are, in fact, Shock Troop Regiments which stay primarily upon Cadia as a kind of "garrison force" with the Regiments being rotated on a schedule which we have not yet seen described in detail.

I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but for future reference I would like to know where exactly this is said. Specifically the part about the majority of guard regiments being uni sex. I've read pretty much every book regarding Imperial Guard regiments as the focal point and only remember the Valhallen warriors from Ice Guard being sexually integrated.

And yet, Eisenhorn: Malleus features the planet Cadia and it states there is a civilian population who wear stylised camouflage.

The Kasrkin were just men. It made their actions all the more astonishing. Six white blurs, they fell upon the cultists, lasguns barking at close range. They wasted no shots. One shot, one kill. - Eisenhorn: Malleus

Then you haven't read Gaunt's Ghosts, I take it?

I can think of at least three "named" female characters within there. Tona Criid(a sergeant and then captain of the Ghosts, rose from being a common streetganger), Jessi Banda(a sniper), Muril(a sniper/scout), and one whose name always eludes me...she was a flamethrower operator.

There's also the Phantine Skyborne, who were in "The Guns of Tanith" and then spun off into their own book called "Double Eagle".

You're not going to find any hard sources on this, simply because it's explored in a great many places and too hard to nail down.

This was one of those things as I wrote it that I knew I would miss something. Yes I've read the Gaunt's Ghosts. And yes that is a Uni sex regiment, but it almost has to be. Seeing as how it represents the fighting force of an entire world, women will naturally be there.

But that doesn't sufficiently back up your claim of the "Majority of Guard regiments being sexually integrated". I'm playing the devil's advocate. I understand the forces of the Imperium and I understand that there are women in the Guard. But if I'm not going to find any hard sources then it's validity is questioned. Let's change the parameters. Where has this idea been even just hinted at/ discussed? That will narrow it down.

My guess is that it really hasn't been talked about much at all.

GW stated somewhere that about 50% of the Cadian IG were female... I don't remember where.

Krieg! What a hole...

IIRC Cain mention how his regiment is a truckfull of extra problems since its gender mixed and that most regiment are single sex to avoid said problems.

I thought all the Tanith were male, and only Vervunhivers made up some of the female replacements (finding particular vocation as scouts/snipers).

IIRC, it was never stated whether or not there were female Tanith, none are ever mentioned though.

Well, it's been a while since I read them, but I seem to remember a few of the Ghosts making quite a point about the influx of females into the unit, suggesting that the regiment was previously all male (if it was already unisex, I can't see it being made as issue).

When the threat is stopped. Also know as never.

Honestly, I never thought Cadia was a good example of how the Guard fight in game. Cadian Blood kinda warped my view of them.

Hell, Cain is assigned to a mixed regiment recently made by combining separate male and female regiments.

Also this is some very basic info.
