I dont understand why you guys believe power armor is this magical ability that nothing short of a lascannon can penetrate. I would say most likely the helmet would NOT save you

Because nothing short of a lascannon/ plasma gun/ meltagun / equivalent can penetrate it cleanly. Other weapons can by hitting a weak area of the armour, but only those can sheer straight through.
I've seen helmets deflect plenty of damage in the fluff, but plot armour is a powerful weapon.

Wow, resolve anyone?

OT, Kharn doesn't wear arm armour because he's too MANLY!!!! He's like the old spice guy mixed with the Hulk.

Pretre: OOOOHHHHH snap. That's like driving away from hitting a pedestrian.

SOURCE PLZ

All im saying is that Helmets CAN save a guy but most likely they will not. That is the whole point of rolling an armor save, to see if the shell hit a weak point like the helmet

Weak point like the mouth grill or a joint, maybe.

Most likely the PA helmet will save you. Anything strong enough to penetrate it wouldn't have been stopped anyways (plasma, lascannon etc.)
It is more or less proof against small arms.

Ciaphas Cain. Im not saying it happens all the time, Im saying once in a blue moon when all the planets align. The person wasnt okay, he took massive injuries and was out of the fight so maybe thats not the best example.

Im talking about Bolt rounds penetrating the forehead, yes that has happened multiple times. Ya a lasgun isnt going to penetrate that I know, but that doesnt mean that this thing will stop bolters 24/7. If they were THAT GOOD then it wouldnt even be up for debate. Hell even in the books like Battle of the Fang the Captains comment that yes they are lossing some protection but its not a big loss. The weapons he is worried about hit himming are going to pen him if he has the helmet on or not, thats why he doesnt care about the helmet. If the Helmet could stop bolter rounds and he knows that the enemy will be carrying bolters, you bet your ass he is going to have his helmet on.

Stating the entire series is not a source. A quote or a page, is a source.

Won't stop them 24/7 as in won't stop repeated impacts, yes. It WILL stop a non-heavy, non-vulkan mega bolt the first few shots, everytime, except in the movie because those ultramarines were unstoppable. Battle of the Fang is a horrible example, because in that book it really was only lascannons taking marines down.

It's quite simple, Khârn doesn't need the servo muscles in the armour, he has quite enough in his lone arm to carve through your army, land raider and most likely dice rolling hand in one fell swoop.

Also lets face it, whats more demoralising. A 8 foot slaughterer of millions, or said 8 foot slaughterer giving you the biggest gun show this side of the Ultima Sector

I think we must be thinking about a different bit of the story..

Spoiler:
The BA had already taken his helmet off and was walking along, the NL dropped from the ceiling, after a very brief scuffle the NL fired a bolt point-blank which lodged in his neck and blew his head off. Something which would not have happened had he been wearing his helmet. The way that section was written, I think it was almost certainly a tongue-in-cheek comment on marines not wearing their helmets into battle.
