Just a quick update as well

I've finished all the Citadel Guard so I thought I'd put some pics up, just to keep up all in the loop







Next up is the captain and then the GotFC

They look cracking sir! That is some very tasty red Keep up the good work!

GotFC are my fav's!! (despite dying a lot )

Well red and brown Haven't gone and got a dark red yet so im using brown atm for the effect of depth not the greatest substitute but it works

Yeah I do like the GotFC models well mine won't die, I've trained them better



Anyways, I've only got 5 models left to paint now until I've made my 500 point army so I thought I'd post it up my army list to see what people think (I can always paint more models to change it after all

Warband 1:
Boromir with shield - 180

Warband 2:
Captain with shield - 55

Warband 3:
Captain with shield - 55

Warriors that I have (Haven't made up my mind where to put them all)

3 Guards of the Fountain Court
3 Citadel Guards
1 Warriors of Minas Tirith with Banner
4 Warriors of Minas Tirith with shields
6 Warriors of Minas Tirith with spears and shields
4 Warriors of Minas Tirith with bows

I'm thinking the 3 GotFC, 2 Warriors of Minas Tirith with shield and 2 Warriors of Minas Tirith with spears and shields and the banner in warband one with Boromir

All the bows in another warband

and then the rest of the models in the last warband

I'm not sure whether putting all the bows in a single warband in the best thing to do?

Thoughts?

I'd put them all in a single band for sure. Maybe even have a captain with bow?

I would take all your elite troops, so your 3 GotFC and 3CG's.

Other than that what are you aiming for army wise, as in content?

Well they are all the models I'll have in my 500p army so them just not sure where to put them all

Yeah was thinking all the bows in one warband was the better thing to do and I do actually have a spare conversion back-pack bow (if you get what I mean) Could put that on the back of one of my captains, although that would leave one of them with a bow and a shield, suppose that is useful for shielding if he gets charged by a mounted figure.

Ok then, this what I would do, split shields and spears into equal amounts, GotFC count as shields due to their high DEF and go with Boromir. All bows in one warband with bow captain, no shield though, 5pts is nearly another fella!

But the model will have a shield and bow and i don't like proxying plus I wont be able to fit another guy anyway

Right, I apologise for the deley in posting, just been a little busy!

But I can say that I have now finshed my 500 point Minas Tirith Army

First some picture of my GotFC









I really need to get a dark red to so the clock all red rather than brown depth! The silly thing is is that I went and got some paint the other day and forgot it

I should be able to have a game with them in about a months time which feels like an age but oh well

All I have left to do with these models is base them (and get some dark red paint for depth )

Right now I'm back off to Uni until June for my exams so won't have a lot of time for paint (heck I shouldn't have been doing this much painting in the first place!) but I am taking some orcs with me to get a start on my Mordor force

hhaahah no worries about the delay, I know how real life can feel like it's on fast forward sometime.

Army looks neat. I like the red theme. Do you already have a battle planned or are you going to look for one
when it comes to that time.

Touché tbh it feels like that all the time! I don't know where all the time goes everyday

Thank you my friend who I play 40k with usally gives me games of lotr (using my models though ) and he should be back home when I get back so I'll have a game then but I'm also gunna join a local gaming group and try and scout out a few lotr players

I'm doing AAT accounting qualifications and work as a finance assistant. Sounds boring right? What kind of history? I would have liked to study ancient war studies such as the Romans/Persians/Carthaginians etc.

I always liked the subject history, I myself sometimes wander in the world war two district and the gallery of art history (though don't study the field or anything^^)

Yeah, sounds really interesting! But at least you have a job Just plain history; things like the Nation-State and the growth of Nationalism, the rise and fall (and rise again) of nationalism :L but I also have a political theory modeule thrown in there

I wish they done that sort of thing but that's more Classics

Update

So with my 500 point Minas Tirith Army done I'm going to move on and paint a Mordor army before going back and painting up my rangers

Done a quick paint today just to test out a colour scheme, What does everyone think?

With district I was sort of metaphorical just meaning when I lurk into books or watch documentaries they are mainly WW2

Haha sorry been too busy revising to paint much, and any spare time I have had to paint I've spent painting up some marines I still have left but as soon as my exams are all over I'll have plenty of time to get some more painting done

When are your exams over?
