I much prefer chaos over kaos, the novelty of spelling it that way is short lived if it's entertaining at all and isn't worth all this fuss more so since it's taking a good portion of focus off of the subject you were trying to present here on the forum.

Isn't Kaos a clan or something? or a band?

Here's a thought, does war bands who worship chaos and follow practices and go with the bloodlust stuff and renegade/traitor chapters like night lords or More accurately fallen angels fall under the same category of chaos as two sides of a coin or should renegades be considered separate from chaos?

Anyone not with the Emperor will eventually fall to chaos.... usually because they're in a touch bind fighting loyalists or they need more power, or everything just goes into the toilet.... OR.... they slowly degenerate to the dark gods

As for the spelling, if you believe Wittgenstein, and tie in a bit of Hegel...

I do recall reading in a BL library though one of the barbarian tribes did refer to it as Kaos rather than chaos...

I fear you are missing two important points:

1) Chaos has never been spelled 'Kaos' at any other point in the setting's 25 year history.

2) To anybody that isn't Rob Liefeld, spelling it 'Kaos' looks really derpy. Michael Moorcock didn't feel the need to give it kewl xtreme lettorz, and neither should we.

Honestly, I can't stand Chaos. Not after No Know Fear. About half way through, and I can't stomach the Word Bearers turning traitor and all. Although I did get a new respect for Robout Gullieman.

So Loyalist. I like the Guard too much to turn my back on it.

Tabletop, I probably would go Imperial Guard, so Loyalist servant of the Emperor.
In real life, I have WAY too many thoughts of BLOOD RAGE and MURDER. Plus, Nurgle seems like he'd be a nice guy to work with.

Myself? I was 100% Chaos then i was shown the true light and now i'm dabbling in both. Heretical isn't it just? If i had to decide i would believe in the Star Child. Not all of the Warp is bad...

If I had to pick a warband I would most likely go with the Red Corsairs. Hell get my own ship and pirate the crap out of the imperium.

For me its just about the human species and its survival, if the emporer is the only hope go emporer, if lorgar was right and humanity needs chaos as destastefull as the dark gods can be chaos it is, my hatred is reserved for xenos who either want to wipe humans out, eat them, harvest them, or turn them into docile slaves before breeding them out of existence, Eldar, Nids, Necros, Tau.

Either way you'll get to kill xenos scum/filth be it for whatever reasons you wish or find yourself with. You really haven't answered the question here by simply stating you'll go for whatever is in the best interest of the human species be it the god emperor or if lorgar was right about the need of chaos for humanities survival. If any of these things where confirmed above all else as fact it would be easy to pick sides but really it's all just opinions and what not. If you have one side yelling praise the emporer and save the species and another shouting the same about chaos where would you sway?

I have a question for Loyalists. Why would you stay loyal? Its made clear that you'll end up dying in the service of a man who is probably already dead billions of miles away.

Id probably leave the service of the emperor even if i was astartes and live my life peacefully and raise a family

That seems rather interesting, how far along are you in your fluff? Is it up anywhere?

I don't like or trust the chaos gods or those who worship them, however they might be the only thing capable of defeating the Necrons. My thought on the manner is much like that of Horus or Curze, not like the Emporer who went so far as too deny their existence, and some of the more zealosu Chaos Marines like the purge who would sacrifice all humanity to the warp.

Still Imperial in allegience, just hereticly Imperial, like Horus.

I do prefer Chaos over the Imperium. I do have a soft spot for the Space Wolves and White Scars however. My loyalty is to Huron Blackheart and his loyalty to Chaos.
