There could be a recurring gag where the guardsman was supposed to be executed by a Comissar but maybe something spoiled his aim and in every other episode he keeps trying to finish the job.

I'm pretty sure that this would have been awesome. And they have to do the typical episode where everyone is picking on the Squat for being the outsider but in the end he saves the day and proves his worth. Then they have a school dance and the cute Sister of Battle he keeps pictures of asks him to dance.
