THIS, WAS, AWESOME!!!!! Also, as I read your intro, I definitely heard it as narrated by morgan freeman.
And yes, your second quote was obviously starwars, would ANYONE who posts here not get that?

I pride myself on producing good battle reports, but yours is fantastic! The narrative, the model-oriented pics... really well done Randy. I know what kind of time commitment it takes to do something like this... thank you.

Who doesn't love green balls (better than blue...), Railheads are good against most things, and massed Kroot + Hounds are surprisingly fighty..

No any running must still comply with the 'Rage' rule (so must move towards nearest baddie)

Yeah do, Alex has a forum up now so you can arrange pick up games etc
Thanks, I laced references pretty thickly through, mentioning bits here and there and some paraphrasing, mostly because its funny and I can't help it ........mostly

Thanks a lot, I have read and enjoyed several of you reports and they are always clear and well presented, you can tell what's going on which is not always the case with BattReps..
Check out my other big report and there's an old one Alex did of our very first game (link in first page of my IG Blog), I would like to do another when time permits, a cool fortress held by Guard being saved in the nick of time by Marines or something..
Ta Ta
for now!

I can't believe I only just got around to reading this. It was a great game with two beautiful armies.
I know that GW often claims that they're trying to create a cinematic feel in games of 40K. It's my personal experience that nothing really captures that as well as the desperate struggle of an Imperial army trying to fend of a swarm of Tyranids.

I read some of your BattReps, the perm night fighting is a bit rough, might need some minefields etc to help out, IG Infantry unsupported really need to be in mass blobs with Commissars to stand any chance at all really, so I'm not surprised you have found it hard to hold the line, still it does lead to a more 'last stand' kind of feel, which is cool. The rangers are some of the best painted IG I've seen...

I know what you mean, the Nid fluff is so apocalyptic and alien, they are the Ultimate bad guy, I love this match up. But I continue to be disappointed by the current codex...

Thanks alot Matt i've really enjoyed having a read of this. Sorry to not have contributed as much to this thread as I would have hoped.
Things have been getting a bit busy here at the shop with some staff illness and a few personal (non hobby related) projects coming to a head. I've been a bit tight for time to say the least!
Cheers for the kind words everyone it really feels good to know that we must be doing something right, if you behave yourselves we should be doing more in the near future....

That battle report was awesome! I didn't really check it out until it was all completed and in one place, but it was a great read with some incredible pictures. Nothing like seeing so many well painted models on the table together, but I especially liked the IG scheme that tied in with the Ultramarines. It made the armies look even more unified, and they looked great on that terrain.

Only negatory would be to take a few more "overall battlefield shots" so we can see the progress of the battle.
A lot of the shots whilst really great and action packed didnt show the flow of the battle or how the armies moved tactically.
If thats what you were going for, maybe put an "action pic" tag on the rep.
Still great stuff though

Good pont I'll do some more sweeping vista shots next time, my camera isn't great at that, Alex probably got some good shots, he said he might still post some choice ones up here.....
