Yeah, I heard about GW Hornsby as well... was my local as well.

Shame, wasn't to do with bad sales or anything like that... they just are not getting their lease renewed... that kinda sucks

Westfield wanted a 30% increase on their rent if they renewed.

Additionally, they would probably be "asked" to relocate to an area of the complex that needs increased consumer flow as part of that deal.

All costs for relocating to it are borne by the vendor for that, too.

That's all on top of the extra 15% "levy" they are charged for being a "niche" store (and not a company powerful enough to tell them to stick it - unlike DJs, Myer, etc).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Best thing ever was the Mt Gravatt GW moving out of Westfield. They are immediately over the road, but have about 10x the space, and are now a battle bunker (I think)

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Yeah, unfortunate about the closing since there are actually a few decent players at Hornsby. Winning is a theme right?

The good thing about Hornsby is that it is a decent size store and you can have a good 3 games going at once and the tournaments/campaigns are always good quality. Just got off the back of a 12 week Blood in the Badlands campaign during which I scored upwards of 15+ games in the store.

On an unrelated note: Collateral was a terrible movie

Local clubs over GW every time.

No sales people, and generally the people who attend are wayy more chilled to hang out with

Which GW do you avoid attending Ghost? is your local one a regular store or a battle bunker? It seems the regular stores are getting worse scores than the battle bunkers by and large...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
