You have a very unique and realistic painting style. The highlights really define the miniatures very well.

Thank you and you pegged me right on the money for my style! That is a great observation. It took me about 3 years and probably 3-400 models mostly marines to find my style.

All i can say is WOW!
Love the way you have done the OSL it really is awe inspiring! and the runes on the bases are fantastic as well!
My only criticism is that the edge highlighting on your vehicles look a bit chalky and thick, but that is just my thoughts, every thing else is really very good and i think the grey paint scheme is spot on!

PS if you don't mind i would like to use your rune base idea on my SW when i get round to starting them!?!

Holy crap, that's awesome!

Thank you, I love osl stuff or any lighting for that matter. The edge highlighting prob looks thick because I hit the corners or where two lines meet with white. Unless your seeing something else. Let me know. O and I don't care if you use my rune base idea. Thank you for asking.

Hm.. they look pretty good. A great start definitely. If you're hoping for GDs though I'd clean a few things up.

1. The OSL looks a bit sloppy on the rhino

The green around the front vision slits is odd and wouldn't have a reflective surface to show the light source. The OSL on the headlights/spotlight is a single tone, making it just look like airbrushed yellow (which it is). It should get lighter as it approaches the source and the source should be much lighter than the reflections. Also there should be no color from light source o nthe vertical part of the hull under the headlights. Basically with OSL less is more. I'd shy away from so much help from the airbrush, it really drags you down IMHO.
2. The freehand looks pretty good on the table (as I've seen your Superman army) but it should be more crisp and defined if you're shooting for the GDs. I'll let you peruse CMON or GD past winners for examples. Your freehand, while very creative, kinda just looks like drawings on the tanks instead of a painstaking rendering done by little dudes on their tank. Your first Rhino looks infinitely better though.

3. Just as a personal preference, there are way too many primary colors on the models. Color theory is pretty big with GD judges, which is who you're trying to appeal to. Again, less is more.

Otherwise you got some cool models there!

First thing, thank you very much for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I know I am not at gd level, but I am really trying to get there. I prob would not do any free hand models for the competition. I don't even think I would do osl on anything. Speaking of the osl, the picture does not capture the color tones used on the lights- they actually do get brighter as it gets closer to the source. Good catch on the lip not suppose to have light on it...I will be fixing that. On the freehand part - what do you mean by getting it to look like a rendering. I don't understand. With the color theory I am thinking your talking about the reds and blues? I wanted to try the lava route on the sw since I have never seen them outside of ice. I don't think I would go that route in a gd competition at all even though it looks pretty neat IMO.

Again thank you for the feedback. I am looking forward to your response. Also did we play each other or something once?
Otherwise you got some cool models there!

Hello everyone I have a BIG update for the army – almost all of my initial 2,000 points are done. So what’s left you ask? I have 5 oop 13th company Wulfen coming and should be here any day. 3 will be used in this army. I also only have 5 heavily converted wolf scouts that I am starting to paint today! That’s it! 7 models for this 2k list!

All previously painted tanks got some touch up love and all white doors with Bran’s icon were repainted. I also made sure to fix the green lights coming from the port holes and the grey under the headlights (which I forgot to do in these pictures on the newest tanks, previously ones have been fixed in pics all fixed now.) With the new pictures you should be able to see the lights getting brighter at the source; I also went back over them just to make it a little more pronounced.

I am adding 3 razorbacks and 1 rhino to the thread. It takes a bit for uploads so expect more pictures to come. I will start on the rest of the army uploads in a couple days. Remember if you would like to vote or view the models zoomed in just click the picture and it takes you to the gallery to do all of that. I would love to see votes on all my pictures if anyone is willing! Thank you all and I hope you enjoy, and as always CC is welcomed and wanted.

The first picture is a quick sneak peak at some stuff upcoming.

Thank you so much for the support!

Ok here is the last of the pictures of the tanks then I will start on to the HQ, Wolf Gaurd, Pack Leaders, Troops, Banners, Land Speeder, mark of the wulfen troops, and scouts. Please feel free to click the image for a better look. Also I have not had any feedback on the new door style I decided on in comparison to the first 2 doors I did (both were different) on page 1. If anyone would like to let me know what they think please do so, and thank you so much again for looking.

Here are 2 Rune Priests! One uses Murderous Hurricane and the other one is a living lightening study as depicted on their banners. I also made 3 standard barers for the army. I hope you all enjoy. Also added some better pictures of the dune buggy and its finished base. CC always welcomed and wanted. More to come soon! Lots and lots of troops!

Nice ideas ad paint work. The Speeder conversion is cool too. I think I will try to add more color like you did to my lava bases. Mine look a little flat you know...

Also I might use those glowing ruin type writing, they look really well on your weapons.

It actually solves an issue I had, I have a lot of armies and the power weapons were all starting to look the same you know... How I can make it clear what a Daemon weapon looks like, a black sword, and so on...

Thank you for your CC. I love the speeder too lol! I use around 5 colors on my lava bases it does give them a little depth. Feel free to use whatever ideas you saw here and incorperate into your army. I totally agree about the weapons starting to look the same so I try to change it up a little bit from time to time. Notice my scouts in the pics I posted now have the reg silver type weapons.

Thank you ~ Yeah I totally got all into the banners on the RP's lol. Its such a simple yet effective way to tell which has what powers too!

Ok everyone I have 2k points done and the display board! I now have something to take pictures on lol. So all the models for this army that I paint up in the future will get cool pics. I have roughly another 1k points left or so. The army is ready for my tournament in 2 days and I am stoked I hit my deadline 5 months in the making. I hope you all enjoy the pictures Cand C welcomed. The display board has LED lights lighting the bottom and has flickering reds to simulate fire as well.

These all have lots of emotion and color without being too cartoony or "plastic army men" feel. I love the lava; how did you do that falling lava and what material is it made out of?
