How much better does 6th edition have to be for you to stay with (or come back to) 40k?
Above and beyond a much better game in all lacking aspects. A brilliant game
Much better
A bit better
It could stay the same. I like its fine as it is
It could decrease in quality and i could stay with it
It could be much worse and i would persist

On the fence, I am getting pressure to play again but the latest rumors + time frame for a new Eldar dex put a hard stop to buying anymore units. Was trying to bring my army up to modern levels right now in anticipation of starting to play again after ~8 years (didn't sell my army, just put it in storage). Rules right now don't excite me, and the highly possible nerfing of transports and mechdar scares me as I have 0 interest in playing footdar short of MAYBE Iyandon. If guardian heavy footdar becomes the only viable eldar option, I am out unless 6th offers something really exciting. probably won't wait the 12-18 months for a new eldar dex before finally offically pulling the plug and selling out. I was ready to pull the trigger on a major FW order to put together a 2000 point Corsair force as a new army, that might be the one viable option for me after 6th hits, but it gets really tough to drop that much on a game I am not happy with.

If they brought back the good bits of 2nd ed (including modifiers - given the standards of arithmetic these days, a lot of gamers could use the practice), I might play it.

As it is, I will sit out the next edition. 40k has become stale, flavourless and weak.

All this time at the top of the heap with no competition has made the company lazy. They don't have to try, they are #1. Well, if they don't lift their game, they might find they are no longer at the top - many gamers have sought alternatives in the last year, and some of those games are gaining ground.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Change Wound Allocation away from Wargear to Toughness again. Or make it so if you put a wound on a model, you have to put wounds on it before you can put it on anyone else in the unit, even if their wargear / toughness is different.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

I'd I'll play if it stays about the same, or if they improve the game and/or fix various issues with the rules.

5E is mundane and a grinding experience.

The rules need to be more creative. Cover saves are insane right now. Vehicles are just there to get into hand to hand faster.

There is no movement phase in this game... Its ok Ill move towards your guys another 12".. Ill now get out and we roll 145 dice to see the outcome of this close combat.

There is no shooting phase as most people not in vehicles are on foot and running.... why? Cause shooting is for suckers and CC is where the murder happens.

Everybody has a Inv save or FNP..

A game of 40k has become a job more than a hobby.

There needs to be more randomness of things occouring in game. Tactics need to be rewarded instead of there is a unit go run at it and starting wacking away.

The missions are horridly unoriginal and actually make me cringe when someone suggets we play a mission from the brb.
I think it needs less randomness. Less scatter. Less mishap. Hell, those don't even make sense given the advanced technology. Less d6 rolls in general. The smoother the gameplay is, the better 6th will be. Apparently, the leaked ruleset was a much faster experience, and that's not a bad thing.

That's true, though facerolling and buncha'-dice-rolling can occur in the shooting phase. The rules need to be simplified.
