I hate it when people do that. I managed to save one Deathwing Terminator from a squad of 5 from a Blood Talon Furioso, and managed to wreck it horribly. That Terminator then went on to draw the game with contesting an objective.

I had someone at a gaming club steal one of my codices. Wasn't really that big of a deal cause I had two of them, but it rustled my jimmies a bit.

Yeah, this one gets my vote for most ignorant thing someone has said in a while. I can only guess that you made this comment because you assume that he's Muslim, and therefore has no right to voice an opinion, because for some strange reason everyone believes that fundamentalist Muslim terrorists represent all of Islam. Or maybe it's because the USA-centric worldview actually believes that the 9/11 attacks were the only time terrorists have killed people. Let me try to help you here:
In Turkey, The Kurdistan National Congress -a terrorist organization- has killed 30,000 people itself in the last 20 years. THIRTY. THOUSAND.
I won't defend the 9/11 attacks. They're awful. Horrendous. But sometimes people make light of situations in order to deal with them. Like laughing at a funeral. And if you think that the 9/11 attacks deserve some kind of special censorship from being made into a T-shirt, then you are wrong. Otherwise, you'd better go back through American pop culture first, and remove every single reference to other terrorist attacks as well. I remember an SNL skit about the Unabomber was particularly funny. You'd better start with that one.
Or, you could grow some thicker skin and realize that tragedies befall everyone; they are a part of life. If you can't let go more than a decade later, then you'll forever be carrying baggage around with you.

I've met too many, I'm getting close to not bothering playing anyone other than my brother in law (who's as new as I am) or GW staff members.
The a holes that I've met at my local store all play different rules to eachother. So it seems to me anyway. One guy tells me my DE skimmers can only move 6" and shoot / passengers disembark / passengers shoot, the other tells me its 12". feth knows what else.
The best one for me was some ugly bastard on my first game. He was playing Dark Angels, didn't like the fact that I wiped out his Terminators after all they'd done was immobilise my raider (0 casualties) and went on a pissy rampage. I didn't know he was cheating until one of his regular guys came along and said "dude, you can't do that, it's cheating" to nearly everything he did. His response "yeah, I don't care". Obviously I got tabled, I called him up on it and refused to play him again. He won't even look me in the eye when we're in the store at the same time now haha. Loser.

Or, you could grow some thicker skin and realize that tragedies befall everyone; they are a part of life. If you can't let go more than a decade later, then you'll forever be carrying baggage around with you. 1. You're the only person who said ANYTHING about Muslims, for better or for worse. In case anyone else DOES happen to believe that, I'll introduce you to several non-Muslim terrorist organizations; in the UK, there's the IRA, who were behind the Troubles, a long string of attacks and bombings that, IIRC, lasted about twenty years. There's Israel's Kahanist movement, radical, ultra-zionist followers of Rabbi Meyer Kahana, who took his fairly right-wing religiously based Zionism and turned it into an excuse to go slaughter Arab Israeli's and Palestinians. There's also the KKK, an American white-supremacist movement with close ties to the American Neo-Nazi movement. The list goes on. Nobody is claiming a 'monopoly' on terrorism. But you have no right to say people shouldn't get offended by a 9/11 reference if you DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE 9/11 ATTACKS. 2. Again, you're referencing things in your argument that NOBODY ACTUALLY SAID. I've spent the last year in fething ISRAEL. I've had family living here for the past 25 YEARS. I entirely understand the extent of terrorism in the world. Of course, you would know that, if you had paid any attention to what I said here: It's relevant that you're from Turkey because he's from Canada. It's a 9/11 reference, and his country has been fighting because of it ever since. His neighbor, America, was absolutely devastated on that day, and his mother-country, Britain, has had her own share of tragedies because of the same kinds of people who performed the 9/11 attacks. It turned the entire western world upside-down. He has a right to be a little offended when someone walks in with a shirt that essentially says 'I love the 9/11 terrorist attacks'. To be honest, he handled it quite well, too. Considering that my uncle and more than a few friends have risked their lives because of all this, and were it not for my heart defect, I'd be there with them, I probably would have started a fight right there. About attacks in the UK. 3. It's one thing to make a joke about it. Another thing entirely to wear a shirt which, letter for letter, says 'I Crash Planes into New York'. I don't know how you could possibly be more blatantly offensive than that. Your argument is based almost entirely on hyperbole and personal opinion and perspective. You have every legal right to wear an offensive t-shirt. What I am saying is that there are millions upon millions of people, in many, many countries, who WILL want to kick your ass for it.

No, they won't. Not everyone is some kind of tenacious American who thinks they can kick anyone's head in who disagrees with their world view. Wear this shirt in the UK (or indeed any shirt from Tshirthell) and the most you'll get is a wry chuckle or a rolling of the eyes. Hell, I see a fat guy regularly walk round town here with this on a shirt ( http://img.chan4chan.com/img/2009-10-03/1254594080568.png I'm not putting the pic in IMG tags, as it is a bit more offensive than the Tshirthell one). I've seen reactions range from "did I just see that?" to "Heh, that's the master race? " Not ZOMG I'm gunna kick UR ASS 4 wearin' a shirt that might offend someone"
We here in the UK have this on sale at market stalls in London. http://www.shocktees.com/images/Hitler.JPG Most people who've seen it find it funny. Conversley I've had people look funny at my CM Punk shirt ( http://www.wrestlingmerchandise.co.uk/ekmps/shops/davidmills/images/wwe-cm-punk-best-in-the-world-t-shirt-3218-p.jpg as It looks a little like a nondescript Arab nation's flag (it's a colour variation of the Chicago city flag FWIW http://flags-unlimited.com/flags-unlimited/images/chicago_flag.gif))
OT:
I've ended up playing many people I would describe as certain feminine hygiene products, but the award for the very worst goes out to the guy called Steve. He was the worst trifecta of the bad gamer, short temper, smelly and did not know the rules. When he lost (pretty much always) he would stomp around the throw his models in his carry case (no foam). He would steal terrain of other active boards when setting up for a game (causing a friend of mine to lose his CSM Lord to shooting, as his opponent was equally a douche. Go figure...) He was like one of the worst people to ever set foot in a GW, which he managed to get banned from 4 times due to a high rotation of staff.

Right to avoid a lock who wants to move on from this argument because to be honest I Dont like to be depressed about real world topics when I just wanted to reads some old vet stories about people being cheesy and then getting the punishment served right back in their face, obviously I could go on a rant about both sides of this argument but personally I just want to read stories About the topic (if you want to discuss or argue go to the off-topic section and post a thread their please) so can we all get back on topic.
To add to the topic I remember playing fantasy game against a dwarf player at a GW (I had TK)...
He told me he knew the rules (he did not), he didn't know how most of his stuff worked and he got two 20 year old players to do the tactics for him, I lost the game and further more for the whole time I was in the store all he said was the he pawned me like a noob... fair to say I was not happy when I left the store...

I suppose that may be a difference in culture and mentality. *shrugs*. My other points still stand, however.
OT, I kind of describe the real A-holes, the guys who smash models and turn over tables, as the mugging of TT gaming. Everyone knows someone who's been there, but it never really happens to you. Until it does.

I doubt what you say here seriously. I wonder if I could walk into one of the Muslim districts in the UK and flash a shirt that says "Muhammed loved bacon" with some kind of disgusting sexual inuendo'd picture and see if I walk out of it physically healthy.. or even alive.

2 on 2 2000 point game. One guys decides to bring on 300 points of reserves during the game, after:
Turn 1: Twin AC Dread explodes his defiler with 3 pens.
Turn 3: His terminator squad is shredded by massed bolter, Stormbolter and AC fire.
After the match, my team mate and I were driving home, and I calculated that our opponent had brought in the extra points. I also realised he only had one troop choice (10 Thousand sons). The most bitter part of it was that I had been told prior to starting that the guys was a cheat, and that I was a chaos marines player myself. I was annoyed I had let it slip past me at that point. The guy was actually really nice, we had a laugh during the game, but I was still miffed that he cheated us. I never play a game without an army list now, unless I know I can trust the guy I'm playing.

It's so fething aggravating when people try and play without a list. If you play, you most likely get cheated. If you don't, they go and whine about how you are TFG and you're all about WAAC and all that other bullgak.

People are too thin skinned. Words and symbols only hurt if you let them.
I think this is hurting almost all Americans and a lot of people across the world, seeing as how it is the worst terror attack on American Soil in history.
I almost lost a lot of my family in the attacks, so I'm going to kindly ask you to never make light of 9/11 again.
You say you're offended by 9/11 jokes? Well, I'm offended by your hate against 9/11 jokes. Therefor, I'm going to kindly ask you to never try to deny jokes again
Point is, ignore what offends you, and nothing bad will happen. People get offended too easy in general. What is being offended anyway? It's you not liking something I enjoy doing/thinking. Essentially, it's you who is oppressing me, because you can find anything offensive, and suddenly my viewpoint is bad and evil. I agree with you to some extent, I wouldn't joke about a murder that happened one month ago. But Christ, 9/11 was 11 years ago, time to let go and joke again. I'm not saying you should do it, but shut down that "offended" part of your brain and ignore what you don't like instead of going on a social morality crusade.

The reason that so many people are offended is that, despite being 11 years ago, its still pretty recent. People are still mourning the loss of their friends and family in 9/11, and I nearly lost my dad in the attacks.
Lets keep this thread going. There was this kid at my club, like 10 years old, having a crappy silver paintjob. Anyway, one person compliments him about it, and the next thing you know, he's waving his silver faced chapter master in front of everybody. Don't really blame him because he was still young, but, still.

To be honest, I wouldn't take what a 13-year-old ;says too seriously. If I had a quarter for every time I changed what I believe since I was thirteen, I could buy out GW and give the game back to the gamers.

Met a kid in my local store who played Space Marines all the time (Salamanders if i remember correctly. lots of green). He had an annoying habit of quickly scooping up dice if they turned out to be 3 or lower or somethign akin to being ineffective against whatever he was shooting at and denying it saying it was something 4 through 6 and if called on it he got really pissy about it. He also had this idea that Space Marines were gods and could defeat anything by the simple fact of them "being Space marines"
One instance he got this bright idea that a Missile launcher (troop launched) could kill a Leman Russ from the front, He rolled to hit and hit the tank on a 5, i was distracted by a cell phone call but continue to watch his rolls but turned away for a second only to turn back to see my tank flipped on its side. I finished my call and questioned him
"Whats that?"
"Oh its wrecked..."
'Missile Laucnher can't wreck a Leman Russ frontally it can glance it at best"
"yeah but im a Space Marine and your Guard so you suck automatically and that lets me do that"
" " I contined the game and ended up crushing him with with the rest of my units and my Platoon Commander got to Power fist Vulcan in the face (i had to push the squad into CC to allow my tanks to back away from vulcan so not to get meleed, but somehow managed to win the melee)
After his defeat he never said a word and stalked off in a huff with his things.
Apparently he got ina fight or somethign with another player later and got banned for it.

It stands for British "National" party, but really it wants to say British Nazi Party, this is because of its principles and what it stands for.

They're not socialists though.

This fething kid I play with in a game boasts about how he beat me earlier. Then tells me Tactical Marines can take artificer armor. That Terminators can fire -twice- in one turn. He also claims to know every book in my Dark Eldar codex, but flipped out when I talked about the Talos. Why the Talos has earned his fear, I'll never know.
But I will use it against him.

Socialism and Nazism are radically different things. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here...
Anyway, the UKIP is pretty bad too, although not as bad as the BNP. We have our own BNP here in Sweden, the difference is that the Swedendemocrats are in the parliament here.

There's a guy who comes into our FLGS who tends to conveniently "forget" lots of rules. He's generally pretty good about it if you catch him, and won't make a fuss, but you really have to watch what he's doing. Luckily I haven't had to play against him, but I've seen plenty of his shenanigans, and had to correct him on a couple of occasions.

This. Some people take the game a bit too seriously. Doesn't mean they're complete monsters, but hey, humans are human.
