Sorcery and Khorne do not mix... whoops, thought that it was a set of upgrades for a sorcerer upgrade not a lord. However, you're missing out on what would be a nice upgrade for a sorcerer, the familiar

Okay, familiar +10 point upgrade for a Sorcerer, allows the Sorcerer to re-roll psychic tests which can negate a perils of the warp.

Genuinely scary Chaos Lords. These guys are potentially veterans of millenia of war in a society that is driven by the survival of the fittest. If there isn't an option to be more expensive and subsequently more powerful than a chapter master then they don't have enough bite.

Ditch icons for squad marks for that "more than a CSM, less than a cult trooper" feel, the entire squad losing blessings of the god because the guy with the banner died is just stupid.

Cult Terminators are a must.

More makeshift weapon options. Someone mentioned it earlier but non-codex vehicle weapon fits, why are they still abiding by those rules?

More Chaos influenced rules, daemonic possession is great but what else, Sorcerous/daemonic rounds and weapons, warp infused armour. Not as standard but as upgrades to add some real chaosy/warp feel beyond being spikey marines with old imperial kit.

Like that post?

New things would be cool, but i honestly believe that the codex already has great variety...it's the costing that really kills the codex.

cult termis would be cool, but other then that addition, god someone, please fix the ridiculous costing for...everything so we can actually make varied armies, like a meched up style, or a fast attack jumpy style or a foot slogger. it's all doable currently in my opinion but the cost for units just does not make it viable.

oh nd bring back cypher lol

Slaanesh & Tzeentch is the worst, hopefully now that GK is released we'll have 17-20 point noise marines that START WITH THEIR SONIC BLASTERS.

I'd rather see Noise Marines be kept at the current bolter/bolt pistol/ccw loadout like the currently have, since I have 2 units of 6 with only a Blastmaster upgrade.

So you wouldn't prefer an assault weapon that shoots better if your still, along with ccw and bolt pistol?

That's cheaper? What, why? Sonic blaster just replaces the bolter, you could even run and gun with the assault mode blastmaster (which needs to be cheaper too)

I don't want to be forced to re-model my squads because they very clearly just have their basic bolters and not sonic blasters!
And I doubt there's going to be another heavy weapon I could 'count as' for the blastmaster conversions I've done...

Sure, sonic blasters will probably get alot better in the new codex, but my squads are modeled on the current pile of steaming monkey poop codex and thus, their upgrades are kept to a minimum.

Marks should open up more options for customization (especially lords). Should be able to buy an iron halo for the chaos lord. Also an improved version of a chaos lord like dunklezahn was saying.

For example, if you give a lord the mark of tzeentch you should be able to things like get a force weapon and buy inferno bolts. Mark of nurgle should allow the purchase of feel no pain, poisoned attacks, and the like. Same thing with the two other marks. Basically: a lot more options to customize the chaos lord, especially if that lord is marked.

Like others said: better psychic powers (especially for tzeentch), some of these psychic powers should be ridiculously powerful but have a chance to have something go terribly wrong (like vortex of doom?), they should be able to do something like buy a psychic hood or have something (say a bound demon) that can go around messing with other psykers.

Cult terminators with similar options to what I said about the lord seems like a good idea.

Chosen should get more options (like I was saying with the chaos lord) to represent them being more favored.

They should back to including non energy weapons for obliterators because I'm sure energy weapons can be made with the equivalent stats of projectile weapons. I wish they would be s/t 5 (but I would be surprised if they actually did this). Maybe give them some standard weapons and give options for buying more types (and maybe even upgrades to things like their invulnerable save). And/or possibly have 'older' obliterators (ones that have been mutated for longer and have become stronger/improved as a result or just because they have had more time to improve themselves or just a 'higher' rank).

Allow vehicles to get marks of chaos (inspiration from DOW), like tzeentch would improve ranged firepower (improve AP or something) or just give it an invulnerable save, nurgle makes it tougher (+1 armor?), slannesh mark could possibly make it move faster (maybe count it as a fast vehicle or something like the orks' red paint job), khorne could do something with tank shock and/or improve melee ability for walkers.

I think they should upgrade the land raider's machine spirit to the same type the loyalists have.

Finally, I think they should bring back demonic gifts (like +1 wound, +1 strength, etc.) that was pretty neat and allow these upgrades to be taken by lords/sorcerers/aspiring champions/chosen/terminators/possessed.

Possessed need to be reworked somehow.

Daemon princes should not have to take psychic tests. Daemons suffering from the perils of the warp is just stupid.

JUST REPRINT THE 3RD ED ONE!

Everything was awesome back in 3rd with that codex. BEASTLY chaos lords. Deamons, I mean why shouldn't CSM get deamon support. Veteran skills on anything cause they were so experienced. I just really loved that old codex.

It would be nice if plain chaos marines had some morale mitigation. All usable assault units generally have some way to lose battles and stay in the fight, even IG power blobs have stubborn.
