The whole 'amazing historical accuracy' selling point that they're going with is just going to increase my frustration tenfold when the Soviets inevitably have some scene or theme revolving around conscripts being gunned down by their own side or other such grimdark shenanigans...

Apparently one of the central themes is the evils of Stalinism (or it may have been Communism).
I strongly suspect that it will be Hollywood history, much like the first game. Perhaps only half of your squads will have rifles, just like in the real world

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Your post is confusing. It agrees with me that being $59.99 shouldn't be surprising as it has been trending that way for some time, but is written as such as that it comes across as if you are also disagreeing at the same time.

I meant to say that games have been $60 for a long time now and I meant to provide a few examples of games that I remember at that price.

They probably will, given that DoW2 used a modified version of the game engine made for CoH.
