Being devil's advocate, are drug smuggling DUI drivers not allowed to assert their rights?

1. Everyone probably knowsd i'm more than right of center. But that woman did have certain rights that she properly exercised. However she pushed past those and into area that are not allowed. For example not handing over your liscense and registration these are required.

2. If she had been calm and collected with the officer she probably would have gotten off with a warning or a very minor ticket.
My brother was pulled over when i was in the car with him and i managed to talk the officer out of giving him a reckless ticket and simply giving him a speeding ticket. The judge then told him "for 12 months of good behavior and a good driver class he would have the ticket cleared off his record and it was."

3. what the officer did after she got out of the car was probably not justified and if that is so they should be punished. (i am not an expert on californias state law). I had a cop pull agun on me once he thought i was reaching for a weapon (I was in a bad part of town and 2 people had been found shot about 400 feet away a week before). After he calmed down i showed him i was reaching for my wallet which had fallen on the floor.

The police are a necessary evil they protect us from those who do not respect other peoples right to life and liberty. However anytime you give the police power you give away some of your freedom so it is a delicate balance that must be maintained.

Technically you could assume they ahd nothing in the car and the kid in the back was high on allergy medicine.

I ahve been pulled over by a cop who suspected me of DUI(me and my mates had been at a gentlemans club and they were passed out in the back.)...... I hadn't had anything to drink but he still suspected me because some drunk a e broke the mirror on my car. I cooperated, and remained calm. After preformed the field sobriety checks I passed the passed the breathalyzer, the cop released me and asked me to get the mirror fixed (seperate note in VA your passenger side mirror doesn't actually have to exsist.)

I was exaggerating a bit, but I still wonder what the decision making process was that ended with "we'll imply they are stoned and have marijuana in the car when they get pulled over".

So I responded with:
She is some sort of nutcase.

She responded with: This is the SAME GUY who does Ghetto Gaggers and does what he does to black WOMYN, all sorts of atrocities. Send him a message and let him know what you think about his antics! (HappyHooker83 in reply to [Me] 12 hours ago)

And she sent me an E-Mail to a comment that she deleted. My comment said "It is spelled Women, not Womyn... Learn to spell and people might think you are actually smart, though I doubt it." here is here E-Mail response:

Here, <Blank> hole!
<Explative> off, or else I will reveal your channel to all those who hate ghetto gaggers. I have also screen shot your message, though I won't post it, <Explative>!

It made me laugh. And I can not comment on that vid anymore, she blocked me.

I laughed.

She is ridiculous.

Most police officers will understand, but you still need to be polite about it.

People who what? Not only would they have to dress up as a police officer, they'd also have to make an exact replica of a police car, sirens and all, in order to pull you over. Anyone ever pulled that on me, and managed to drag me out of the car through my open window, I would have to think 'damn this guy really went to an incredible amount of effort to abduct me, while I'm not too happy he's pealing the skin from my back I've gotta admire the effort he put in'.

I mean, in that video the officer eventually requests them all to exit the car and they do so. So what in the blue blazes does keeping the window up achieve, when a minute later they all get out of the car?

"Femail". It's possible she's a nutjob feminist, but then we might be being too harsh. It could just be that's she's actually just an envelope. A girl envelope, that is.

Even so, how does the window help? If he's gone to all the trouble of getting a uniform and a police car, he'll also have a gun. The window isn't going to stop a bullet.

It's a Mississippi case, and with the suspect in hand it's become apparent that he wasn't dressing as a policeman. Even then, in a country of 300 million it's a pretty bad idea to base your risk assessments on single, high profile events.

I'm still struggling to figure out how the window is supposed to protect you, when a policeman can legally order you from a vehicle (so if he's a fake cop he can still get you out of the car) and will likely have a gun, which can very much shoot right through your partially rolled down window.

This is the thing. The officer just wants to give you the ticket and move on. To the extent that you might have been hard done by, then you can collect evidence for your case (there may or may not have been a sign in plain view telling her no right turn, we don't know) and argue your position in a court of law, not with the police officer handing out the ticket.

I didn't say it would. The creature is clearly just a walking donkey-cave.
However this incidents have happened recently.

1. "undercover" cop incidents have occurred as Melissia noted.

2. Cop cars are just cars. You can buy a similar one or even more easily, buy a surplus cop car. I don't know about Ausie land, but its common for police departments to sell off their used vehicles.

3. You can also buy light bars. Now cop/ambulance light bars are illegal (I think) but you can get "emergency lights" and of course, legality never stopped someone on a sick mission.

The reason you only put your window down 1" is so the cop can't stick his head in your car and search it.

It also prevents someone from reaching in and unlocking the car door.

Someone impersonating a cop could shoot you through the window, but I suspect most people impersonating cops don't do it so they can shoot random strangers. Rape, assault, kidnapping, robbery or other crimes involving force would be more likely.

I imagine it was considered pointless to make a video that told you not to bother exerting your rights because you had nothing to hide.

Probably a lot of students and kids go to concerts and get drunk and skin up some spliff. Who would want to go down for DUI if they could avoid it?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

It is not "a single high profile event" it's an example of an on-going issue.
Nearly every other week in America, a fraud uses a fake badge to enter someone's home or convince them to pull over on the highway.

Cop cars are, of course, more than just car with a light bar across the top. Hell, I got pulled over when I was in the US and your cars were a lot like ours, distinctive paint patterns, radio antenna, all kinds of stuff on them. I'm not saying it'd be impossible to mimic one, I'm just saying it'd be a damn impressive effort.

Now, an unmarked police car, with one of those dashboard sirens - that I could see. Especially with a cop out of uniform flashing a badge. If someone like that pulled you over on an unmarked road, I could understand showing caution. That's fair enough. That situation didn't occur to me, I guess because you do not get unmarked police cars, or cops out of uniform in the country in Australia.

And when the guy points the gun at you and says 'get out of the car'... well then you're as fethed as you were before.
