I usually just scrawl perl code on the bar napkin until the women are so thick around me I can't move my arms.
Unfortunately, that's usually about the point in time I wake up...

I believe he is saying that 8*3^4=72 factorial. Or he is saying that 8*3^4=72, and he is saying it enthusiastically. I am not entirely sure I agree with either.

Cheers for calling several adorable and sweet girls I know "ugly" or "mental". I did state that coming from me 'Mental' isn't a criticism. I also know plenty of beautiful geeky/nerdy gals ; just pointing out that that's also those girls which I later learn are producers of hentai material/heavily into dominations, etc. Cheers indeed. Joey wrote: Kovnik Obama wrote: 3) Being the biggest in the room is in no way an appropriate way of telling off who is and isn't alpha. (if such a thing isn't pointless from the start)
Yes it is. I want something ->I'm bigger than you ->it's mine. How about this ; You want something & I say no to you like every other bully I have known & beat the crap out of you for trying to steal stuff, then place you under citizen's arrest? Then you can try and figure out which genius in the pen is the alpha male... mattyrm wrote:Joey wrote: 1)Yu-Gi-Oh is not nerdy. Just because something is lame, doesn't mean it's nerdy. Comic books are lame but they're not nerdy. Nerdy is an outlook on life. The ability to take a chunk of the abstract, random world we live in, and turn it into quantifiable data and objects. "nerdiness" is essentially an extension of the survival instinct to see patterns in nature, it's not just a party trick. Hum. ''Nerd is a derogatory stereotype of a person typically described as socially-impaired, obsessive, or overly intellectual.'' -Wiki. In this case I'll trust Girls Everywhere ( tm) and Wiki when it comes to defining nerdyness...

Well, strictly speaking Earth is the question. 6x9 is the question Arthur comes up with by drawing tiles from a scrabble bag, to which Ford replies that he always felt there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe. 6x9=54 in the decimal system but if you do it in base 13 it equals 42.

Don't listen to Joey, he just likes to disagree with the majority. Like HHGTG is "garbage".. You don't even need to validate your opinion to 99% of people, Sci-Fi/comedy fans or no!
If you made a food thread and people said they liked popcorn, Joey would say that Popcorn tastes like soap and he likes to take Brussel Sprouts to the cinema.

You can't string together a series of quirky lines that you think sound clever and call it a novel. As a book it's terrible. It's impossible to empathise with any of the characters because they only serve to articulate Adams' whimsical fantasies.
If you compare him to Pratchett, he comes off badly - they both have a similar premise, that of a fantasy world, but Pratchett's narrative is much stronger, and it's easier to empathise with his characters.
