I firmly believe my dice have emotions.
When I use them a lot they like me and I can pass 2/3 of those 6+ ward saves I need.
When I use different dice or just don't play in a while they feel neglected and suddenly my marines are dropping like flies.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I try to believe that dice are neutral, but I have some friends that scare the hell outta me when I calculate the odds of their failures. And it's NOT a one time thing.

My friend firmly believed that if a dice rolls high the first time he uses it, then it will roll low the second time. So when he hits, he rolls the dice that didnt hit as his to wound roll. He constantly loses battles.

Now we play Malifaux, he now calls the exact card + suit he needs, and more often than not, gets it. He loves it haha

For me, I've found saying BOOM! when flipping cards to boost the card number. works every time.

Tacticool always trumps tactics

My friend does something similar. He tries to be cool and says "Dak!" and then proceeds to crit fumble or jam depending on RPG. He seems to forget that Dak died on the first Death Star...

Here is what I do. When rolling dice I look for ones on them. I figure that if I roll a dice on a one, then it will come up with something better second time around. Now I know that the odds are no different and I should still have a 1/6 chance of rolling a one anyway, but for some reason I do it.

It worked pretty well I thought, until I got new dice and they seem to be a bit funny. They're more clunky so I think because they are slightly harder to roll, they don't move very much around the table.

What doesn't help is that one of my usual opponents uses the same blue dice and gets better rolls. I picked up some new GW paint and added a block of Chessex Purple 12mm x 36 to the order to hopefully improve my rolls. I'm also planning on starting a Dark Elves WHFB army with a purple and teal colour scheme so I wanted matching dice.

It's the Chessex dice I have, but red in color instead that I'm having a few problems with. The problem is me really, I'm just not rolling them hard enough, so when I take a one like I usually do and I don't throw it hard enough it sometimes it comes up with a one again.

The only real universal constant is "New Model Syndrome", that being the law that dictates any new model you've just bought and constructed will die before it can do anything, usually on the first turn.

Beyond that, I have a strange inability to hit with Lascannons, but only when they are singular Lascannons. 4 Lascannons in a unit? No issue. 4 squads each with 1 Lascannon? Four misses, every turn. I don't know why.

The Lascannon Gods want you to take them all in multiples within units.

Never you mind...

I'm not superstitious, but the last game I played (about twenty years ago) was held in my friends garage on a very hot summers day (well, hot for UK) and the forecast was for more of the same. I was losing badly with my Black Legion, and our other friend (who was a sarcastic little feth) on one of my dice rolls said that "I should shout Blood for the Blood God!" at the top of my voice as a last desperate plea for help. Rolling my eyes as I did so, rolled the dice.

Thunder and lightning and the biggest down pour in months. Needless to say that whilst I lost that dice roll, the effect of having the weather change so suddenly pysked out the other two for the rest of the game

I try to match my armys colour but that's for aestethic purposes. I do have traditional dice but it doesn't really matter. IE my salamanders have green, with some red for melta. Red dice for blood angels with bigger ones for deep striking.

I once talked about starting an Eldar army on the side and I'm certain my CSM army was within earshot... I could not roll to save my life the next 3 games I played.

Its not much, but one game when I was playing my brother, he rolled a string of bad dice rolls.

'Curse ye Dice Gods!' he exclaimed, and then followed to eat some sweets. He then followed to choke on said sweets for a bit, before spitting them out and binning them.

I've never heard somebody grovel to the Dice Gods like he did afterwards, and that was a while back...

Was always superstitious with GW dice until i realised that they are actually molded terribly. With the clear ones you could see all the bubbles inside... now use dice from another retailer and always feel much better, despite not rolling well

Never call a missle launcher by that name. since its got the word miss in it. I am so glad Orks call them rokkits. ( though with their balistic skill it matters little )
And always, ALWAYS pray to the god of dice rolls ( tzeentch ) before battle.
And I always use Green Dice when playing Orks

I once considdered building a terrain piece. Specifically an altar dedicated to the dice gods. Complete with sacrificial guardsmen and some priests
Maybe I will someday.
