Had a game yesterday with the latest list here, it was 5 objectives and Pitched battle. I unfortunately got 2nd turn, the objectives were placed in sort of a star with one outlyer on the right upper board, where the opposing player took. I was playing against a blood angels player. I was able to tie up his termies and mephiston with a 30 boy squad, by big mek (which fortunately was not based with mephy - so he survived until he was based with him). One kan unit took immobilized and ripped off all but one weapon of a land raider, the other 2 helped with the 30 boy squad tie up mephy and libbies for enouph of the game that the other 2 boy squad captured two objectives, ghazies group killed one troop squad and could not quite get to the other troop squad by game end, so game ended 2 objectives to 1, very close game. I have been decently happy with my kans to tie up deathstar units until either ghazy can help or tie up long enough to stop them from devestating the rest of my army..

I run a very similar list. and i definitely agree with the kans for tying up deathstar units. and also I love running my big meks completely kitted out like that. only thing I might change, if your running 9 kans, there is no way to give them all cover saves with just 1 mek, since it only obscures the vehicles that are within the 6" for the kff. So 2 meks might be required. and as much as I love ghaz coming off any table edge I find the 2nd mek to be more effective, plus it gives you room for more lootas

I have done that in the past... I find that I can group the kans close enouph to the big mek to give all of them cover saves most of the time, until later in the game where they are usually assaulting or in assault. It does bunch them up a little but I still find I can hide my boyz sufficiently... Cheers and thanks for the post.

Im just trying to think, realistically it doesnt seem possible to have 9 3" bases all within 6" of on model, and still have them form a wall for some 80 boyz. to hide behind. maybe im wrong but if its just 6" either direction that gives you a 12" line and with 9 kans that gives you about 27" to cover for the wall. just doesnt seem possible to me

I would have to agree. I can't see covering 9 kans with only one KFF. I run 2 KFF's and I have 6 kans and 3 dreads. It can be hard with them some times.

I guess if it works for you.

Well it works for me.. at some point in the game they spread out, but early on I have not problem keeping them within 6" and still giving cover saves to my boyz.. I will get some more battle reports up and you can look at them yourself.. cheers

I you bunch them together and put them in a triangular pattern the geometry works. Or you could just arc them around the Big Mek in a 6" semi-circle, but that does limit the wall capability and means you really need to pay attention to terrain.

I usually put 2 of each squadron up front and then shimmy the others in a semi-circle around the big mek. It does work, for me very well
