Just deal with it that GW didn't let the most over powered army not get something.

I think you do need to learn that Grey Knights are not the most overpowered army, they can easily get it handed to them by SWs and sometimes Dark Eldar provided the list isn't Venomspam, at the end of the day they are just expensive marines and not everyone plays paladins and purifiers.

And you could learn that Games Workshop builds units for placement in specific codices for a reason, they published the rules for the ST and it is quite clearly Codex: Space Marines only. At the end of the day it is exclusive to that codex, and it's silly to be mad at people who believe this is reasonable.

I'm not being mad it that factor, i've already said I understand but there's no reason to bring in the "Grey Knights are the Filth" because not everyone plays to win! Warhammer is a Hobby and it's not all about Gaming and win, win, win and I'm not one of those people who will write an uber competitive list and go to a tourney and then come crying on here after not winning and suggest someone of cheating, I only asked and i can understand the opinions, maybe if you read my earlier posts you'd realise that.

My local GW manager said that any sm army could use the storm rave in store when it came out as long as they had the wd with the rules in.
As soon as the talon was released he siad the samething, but if GK took it, it only has a normal techmarines pilot instead of one who can heal his vehicle and can't take any upgrades like psy-bolt ammo.

I think this is great as it means everyone can play with the models thet like but not being able to have weapons specific to their codex. I agree that if you try doing it at a tournament is wrong and won't work. I always check to see if my opponent minds if I'm using a stormraven for my ultramarines, and if they don't then i use something else.

I definitely wouldn't be comfortable playing against it with a Grey Knights army - and it's even too small to count as a Storm Raven.

Dark Angels and Black Templars though, sure! I don't actually see a reason why Dark Angels weren't given it, the vehicle practically screams 'Ravenwing' to me...

Well the only specialist SM are BA and Gk which have the raven, BT which haven't been updated for5th yet, and lulike to stay on the ground, and DA which are suppossed to be the next codex. SW would need their own StormwolfGunship.

I'm fine with it not being allowed in tournaments, i mentioned this in my OP, but yeah I understand where you are coming from, to be fair i don't mind giving a little to take a little, I have opponents at my FLGS who use units such as the LR Achillies and the Contemptor Dreadnought without discussing it with me, although i do moan about it I only moan because they haven't asked, even though i would allow it if they did, I don't like it when people using something without confirming with the opponent because it does say they should do this.

I guess i'll steer clear of the stormtalon though, until I start Imperial Fists or maybe White Scars where i will get a couple!

I think you need to realise they are, far and away, the most overpowered and undercosted codex. Just because it can still lose does not mean it isn't the most OP codex, if you asked 100 players what the most OP codex was, 99 would say GK, and the other one would be a GK player trying desperately to justify themselves. A basic 5 man squad is 10pts more than a 5 man squad of tac marines, how is that expensive for all you get? I'll give you a clue, it's not.

btw, you never answered my question as to why assassins and henchmen couldn't join all imperial armies, or tau have powerblobs.

I think that is probably wise. As you can see from the response in this thread, it is likely to be a touchy subject and cause ill feelings, for numerous reasons, whether justified or not.

In a word; "no".

GK weren't intended to field Stormtalons (or they would have been mentioned in the WD update, right?).
So, no, you cannot field Stormtalons in a GK army.

Gone are the days when the SM-sub-codexes had every unit that the big SM codex had, with added special units.

Codex Blood Angels (or Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Black Templars and Grey Knights) are just as distant and removed from Codex Space Marines, as Codex Necrons is.
The sooner that is understood the better.

So what if GK is the most OP codex ever made? Take it for fun. It's not like its so good your list is getting better by including it. There are way better places to put your points into when it comes to the GK dex. As long as you paint it sexy sexy silver and inquisitorial red.

I wish I was no older than 16. And the attempt to belittle anyone who doesn't agree with your view reflects more on you than them mate.

As for not making the list any better? I mean a fast skimmer with with 4 twin linked S7 Rending shots, and 3 twin linked S6 shots isn't good at all is it? Oh wait, yes it is, and in months time it will supposedly be even better. And if you're painting it up as inquisition you should paint up 3 hydras, a couple of Leman Russes, and a Manticore too, because its exactly the same.
And give the Hydras psybolts too.

I think this thread is gunning for a lock at the rate it is building into I hate the GKs.

To the OP, I wouldn't personally care for it much since you already have the Stormraven. I don't mind ForgeWorld rules, but I am not a fan of cross codex proxying.

They aren't, but more importantly they don't yet have a flyer. Are you not worried that after spending more than £50 they will be invalidated by being replaced with something else when the DA codex comes out?
