Finished my first honor guard, although I'm still thinking of adding some free hand designs to it

I'm loving the idea here, the sculpting on the wing needs a bit of work, but better than I can achieve, keep at it looking forward to seeing the whole squad!

About the wings... That painted one is my worst one so I decided to do it as a test model, the reason why it isn't very good was because the plasicard base for the wing wasn't big enough, I should have took the time to make a bigger one. You can see how I made the wings here!

Very nice indeed. I feel like a little more freehand detailing on the paintjob couldn't hurt, though. Just something minor to set it off a little.

Yup, I was just thinking the same, I will probably do some designs like what I did on my converted dark angel captain.

Sorry I haven't posted in ages, it is because the of the citadel paints, drakenhof nightshade has screwed up and messed up two of my terminators making them look matt, grey and really dark. So I bought guilliman blue glaze to make them have the same rich blue look as my first. But it did nothing. Very sorry about this. I will post pictures when I sort out this dilemma

Ok, I will be posting images of my second painted honor guard in a sec. Drakenhof nightshade let me down badly and ruined my terminators, so it has taken me a while to find the right paint. I have made my own paint now that is perfect, it gives a very nice sheen to the model and en-richens the blue.

Ok here is my second finished honor guard. I have used more free hand on this guy, especially on the shoulder pads.

Where did you find that picture? I have never seen it before. After making my honor guards I saw on a bitz website a load of shoulder pads like those but they were for tactical marine sized models. With the tassels and all.

It is in Horus Heresy Collected Visions, a very expensive and superb book with tons of inspiration in it.
