For it's transport capacity it should be able to carry 12 infantry models (plus any drones), 6 Stealth (plus drones) or 3 Crisis Suits (plus any drones).
Possibly give it the option to sacrifice transport capacity to stick a twin-linked Railgun on it instead.
I really hope you are being sarcastic.

vendettas are so damned cheesy. i played someone who had 3 in a 1000 point list against my tau once. SO undercosted. they should be at least 1.5 times more expensive.

Tau Gunship - 200pts - Fast Attack selection

- 2 TL railguns on wing mounts
- 1 TL missle pod on hull mount

May transport 6 infantry or 3 suits. Suits may be dropped out as per Gravchute Insertion.
No options.
That is the most OP thing ever. You can reasonably expect to kill any vehicle in a single shooting phase (2 twin-linked railgun shots and 2 twin-linked missile pod shots will kill practically any transport and have a good chance of messing up a land raider), plus you can transport infantry and are supersonic.

I don't see a Crisis Suit transport really being useful since I keep all my suits at a distance and enjoy using their weapons every turn.
I'm going to call it now. It'll be 250 points. Armor 10 all around, BS3 but wait... get this... Heavy6 markerlight!

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Oh no! It can pop a 35 pts Rhino in one turn for 200pts! Even if you bust 1 rhino in each turn, it will barely get back its points (7x35=245 points).
Overall, in one shooting phase, it causes:
- ~0.79 Wrecked result against AV11
- ~0.56 Wrecked result against AV12
- ~0.37 Wrecked result against AV13
- ~0.24 Wrecked result against AV14
I can hardly call it a one-phase wrecking machine ...

The more that I think about it, the more that I think that they wouldn't give us any more railguns outside of a heavy slot.
I'm thinking that we might end up with a railgun-equipped bomber in the heavy slot, and a smaller fast attack flier with the high powered burst cannons, missiles, and markerlights.
It would be nice to decide on either some heavy weaponry and a heavy markerlight turret (or two).

25% chance wrecked is better than most other vehicles. Also wrecking a single Land Raider earns its points back, and due to its speed shooting the side or rear armour isn't going to be that hard compared to a Russ shooting the rear or side armour of something. Honestly with that I would camp in a corner using LOS and my long range guns to simply snipe vehicles the entire game. Get one or two and never even move except to get out of range of the enemy. Also if you are shooting transports to earn your points back you are terrible, you shoot transports to make the infantry vulnerable and slow, not because the transport is a threat itself.
Also, nothing should aspire to be like the Vendetta since the Vendetta is the most OP vehicle in the game. The only downside to it is that you need $66 to get the Valkyrie and something like a $20 conversion kit to make it a vendetta.

Oh god please no. I can't be the only Tau player that doesn't like using kroot or vespid. I might use them for a themed battle, but if I were to use them in a preferred game it would be for cannon fodder only to let my glorious Tau troops prevail with nary a scratch.
Hmm. Kroot aren't so bad in that regard.

Simple, I want a real freaking weapon on my Tau flyers. No burst cannons, missiles pods are even ion cannons as the primary weapon, as they are absolutely pathetic. In should be something that gives the three twin-linked lascannons, dual strength 9 lance weapons and death rays found on other flyers a run for their money. We are a race focused on mobile firepower, our fliers should be frightening. That means either railguns, or seriously revised ion cannons, or something entirely new as a main weapon. It really needs to be str8 and 2 shots at the absolute bare minimum (no seeker missiles don't count, it should be able to fire every round without the assistance of markerlights), but hopefully considerably better.

I remember reading that GW no longer intend to copy/replace Forge World units in their Codices, so its likely you can rule out any fliers already covered by FW. Personally, I expect it to be something that's not been mentioned before...

It's really not.
It strikes me as a well balanced unit, particularly considering its low AV and BS.
IMHO I'd say its actually a better suggestion than your own. My only real riticism would be the inclusion of a transport capacity, which doesn't really seem to fit its role IMHO but rather is a minor inclusion to make it more competitive.
