"They" are right. I've played eThags and that's pretty much the case.

On average dice upkeeping Storm Rager, Grayle will do 30 points of damage to Thags. Even with Spiny Growth, it will be 20 points on average. Getting a charge off increases that by about another 3/4 points of damage. So yeah, I'd say that Grayle can reliably take him down.
