What I like about Orks is that the codex is so clearly a joke. It is a bonna-fide parody of every other codex, eschewing all this 'awesome we're da best kodex' crap for "we like to blow gak up."

In the end, I love it because it doesn't necessarily pretend to be the best army (even though it has the potential to steamroll.) and it doesn't have "all but impenetrable" to describe trucks.

As an old ork player I use to tell people that orks are the one army that can do almost anything better than any other army, but they can only do it one thing at a time...ie when you want to shoot with orks you can put more firepower out (imo) than just about any other army. That use to be my favorite part of playing them. I'd show up with one box of models and be able to field 5 armies that would each be extremely strong and more than capable of doing the job.

With that I'd also say that they are by far the most fun I've had modeling/painting. I use to play regularly with 4 different armies and my orks were the largest and the only ones that I could bear to finish painting.

Any who what's not to like about the Orks? You can have 90% of your army die but still win most games. The comic aspect what the big part that brought me in. Not to mention the amount of conversion you can do with them... have some random vehicle models sitting around.... make a looted wagon out of it!!! There are no limits what you can do with the Orks. Not to mention the new kamikaze fighter

I used to play orks and csm but when my storage could no longer hold both I sold the orks... something to this day I regret. They are by far the most fun to play with, their logic is close to genius levels of simple, their philosophy of if it can kill you its fun to play with it (usually with a big choppa or gun), the fact that they quite literally never lose... winning is winning, dying is just dying and running away is just so they can come back again. Orks are the most over the top, rowdy and ridiculous army there is... whats not to love?
